'72 Super - My first car circa 1990.

This was my first car a 1972 Superbug that I bought on Anzac Day 1990. I spent the early 90's modifying this beastie with suspension & brake upgrades and a 1916 built by Ray Warner. It ran a best of 9.80 on the Oran Park strip which was moving for a full weight super! It was painted during 1990 in the original mustard and the interior decked out in race seats, harnesses and VDO gauges. Ray did build me a 2332cc stroker to put into this but I sold it to finance a trip. My then girlfriend Jo (now my wife) and I enjoyed many trips in this thing even travelling to Brissie for Dubs by the Bridge? I remember we wore earmuffs all the way because I had turfed out all of the sound deadener. This was just the first in a string of vw's I've owned over the last 25 years.Text
