ive got the pics of diffrent rims that i want for the car so please help me choose

Volkspower - September 25th, 2003 at 01:43 PM

Personally,
I like BRM's but colour coded stockies look cool too. Are you planning on having it finished for when you get your license? pretty cool first car if you are.

Hey Dom, welcome to the forum. I personally would have to say the empi 5's. I have a set and reckon they're great. :thumb

thanks its a hard choice beacuse i like them both i wanna try and buy both but we all know a 15 yr old cant afford that

Unity-28 - September 25th, 2003 at 01:58 PM

HEy welcome Dom to the world of t3's.

I would go BRM's But not black, the natural finish looks sweet with the outer spokes polished. Or you could go for Radar (sorry about the spelling!) replicas.

ey byronbus what veedub have u got??

TheGermanFolks - September 25th, 2003 at 03:26 PM

those wheels are made by http://www.randarwheels.com.  They cost about $1000 USD a set. And the fully chromed ones are $1200 USD. Nice wheels. And Randee, the guy who makes them, is the man.

NO site yet, We NEED to get one up soon.
Maybe as soon as we get some of the cars out there....

Not sure of the cost though! I think in the states they are around 1000 for a set, but dont know how much they would be here.

SKEWtYpe3 - September 25th, 2003 at 04:39 PM

maybe ol's one?

65square - September 25th, 2003 at 04:45 PM

Hey Dom, good to see a youngster getting into the type 3s! I'm a BRM man myself, but be warned! Clearance problems on the rear guards & the wheels are pretty pricey!! They almost set me back the price I paid for my square!!

Unity-28 - September 25th, 2003 at 04:47 PM

YOu can get 4.5 inch BRM's That will fix any Clearence problem, or you can use short axles.

N!

65square - September 25th, 2003 at 04:53 PM

Yeah, I'll be investigating short axles soon! I've rolled the guards, but still only have about 2mm clearance. So short axles it is!

typ-fre - September 25th, 2003 at 06:14 PM

type 3's are the best but i really love the notches its a madd cruzing car i just got my mate interested in getting one

i told him that ive gotta volkswagen and u know the teenage mates "they love jap turbo'd car" nothing wrong with them of course my old man has a skyline!! any way my mate was giving me shit about it and i showed him what my cars going to look like when i fix it and now he loves it, hes looking for one at the moment lol

SKEWtYpe3 - September 25th, 2003 at 07:04 PM

they are randars not radars
both copied from the same original type wheel but randars are a bit diff. tot eh riggie didge ones........

i think that the short axles u are after a beetle 1200 ones

good luck to ya and ur project.

typ-fre - September 25th, 2003 at 07:21 PM

thanks SKEWtYpe3 its gonna be tough but ill make it look good lol im not really sure what the diffrence is between axel sizes soo buhh!! thanks anyway

BenettonVW - September 25th, 2003 at 08:07 PM
