say what you want to abbout teh supposed rsut you havent seen it before it was put next to the shed it was sandblasted and given a coat of something
or rarther and the rust will just come of with a bit of sanding or whatever:thumb do in the end its all good
all i can say is good luck
Cool man! It's good being able to see it instead of just being told about it. Looks like you've got a lot of work ahead of ya though you
also have a fair bit of time. Do a good job and make it look sick!:thumb
Oh yeah we were playing with the semaphores...hehehe:P
:thumb
cool. was it fun?:party
Oh yeah semaphores kick ass
All the best with the resto. I have a 57 in similar condition which I hope to start early next year. Keep posting pics as you do the work.:thumb
Cool man
It looks pretty straight! bugger all rust, looks like youve found your self a great base for a resto! all power to ya! hope to see it finished one
day!
Think of all the beers after a hard day spent on the old girl! no better thearapy than restoring an old girl like that!
Rob.....
Looks like a bloody good place to start. Far less rust in that than there was in my 73, or my 67, ..... or coincidentally, my 57
I always seem to pick rusty ones to start with
One little point - its not a 59. Ovals were made up till 57, and the first big rear window beetle was released in 57 - still had semaphores and oval
style door handles, but new dash, and window and bunch of other changes.
So - yours is at the latest a mid 57. You should find the chassis number and post it on the forum - one of these guys will be able to date your car
for you.
But at any rate - enjoy the resto
WoooHooo a 57' and there is olny surface rust!, but yey a 57
I was wondering about that earlier...
Hehehe 57' yey and boozer are you gona buy one of those r/c cars? ther 30$ and at toys r' us garden city. thnx fpr tell me that u guys
yeah i think i will but it would be better if they had VW one's.
yeah well one has been found - NOW BID ON IT !

I was wondering about the 59 year bit too. Thought it musta had the oval window welded in some time.
Good score Black Math
Nah when i was looking at it there was no appearance of welding and the window came stock and my uncle just gave it to me and he woulda told me if he
had so he just musta got the year worng
Id like to have it like a kamanndeurwagen
Hey Black Math I hope you can get yours to look that good. Are you gonna paint it grey or if not what other colour?
DONT PAINT IT !!!!..... fix up the structural rust if any slam it on some BRMS with a rack and be done with it !!!
Oh of course were gona fix up the rust and replance anything that is to rusted out, then im goiung to paint it, matt black but it will lok like a
comander wagon once its finished
actually yeah! Do what Adam_C said and make it into a rat! that would be soooo cool!
Hell no, its my kommander wagon and nobody else's its gonna be show quality as well
