fasty update!

Hey everyone!

Thought I'd post some pics I took recently of the rear apron replacement on my '66 fastback. The white apron sitting in the foreground is the replacement to go on the car. My main motivation for doing this job was that VW never painted inside the bellows and the other being that I wanted to make the engine bay/rear boot area smooth (i.e. remove the dipstick/oil filler, air filter pick-up, etc...) since I'm going TypeIV power.
I've also welded in engine mounts, moved the early air delfectors back a few mil' (to make room for the engine mounts) and done a fair bit of other metal work in the tail region.
The rear apron is also getting dual exhaust outlets, when I cross that bridge ofcourse :)

Cheers,
Cam

P.S. Sorry it looks like such a mess, and my digi camera is the dodgyest on the planet! The black-ish looking stuff is'nt rust or anything as bad. It's where I've welding on sections of a new lip, which has also resulted in the original paint bubbling back (from the heat) and it's only got a sealant on it atm to stop any possible rust. The white stuff is where the hole for the dipstick has been shaved (it's etch primer, to make sure I've welded it all dead flat) .
