'63 bug:
Owned for around 8 years. Found as a stripped shell in Ipswich (Qld). Purchased from an old guy whos son had stripped it and painted it that
dissgusting gold colour and had planned on fitting a Carrera Kit to it, but lost interest before he got that far. I reassembled it and then, just to
see if it was possible, got it registered.
Unfortunatly it was involved in a nasty t-bone accident around 4 years ago (I t-boned a Suzuki Alto at around 60kph :o) It was driven home after the
accident, but the insurance company wrote it off (what else did you expect!). I spend a week doing the repairs myself (poor student!) and had it
re-registered. It is running a 40hp motor, and is still 6V.
This would have to be the most reliable car I have ever owned!!
oh, yeah - the 5 spokes are a recent addition to the vehicle. (and no, they are not for sale):P
Oh, yeah - the sunroof is going to be the first thing to go (bloody leaky pile of s*#t) - if anyone is thinking of doing this to their bug... think
twice!
I hope one day to have it repainted its origional colour (pearl white) and have the interior re-done back to origional.

'65 Baja:
This car is being built on the tighest of budgets (still a student! ).
The body and floor were given to me, having been rescued from the dump by a friend. The car had been involved in a big accident and had been stripped
and repaired (poorly). Nothing front or back lined up so it was decided that it would make a perfect base for a baja. At the time I was working
so a few dollars were spent assembling the parts for a mean 1835, then I
became a student - I am slowly repairing and modifying the fiberglass kit to suit the mods being done to the running gear (its all a secret for now!!)
and repairing the rust - all myself! The idea is to do the whole lot myself so that I can learn how it is all done, and be an "expert" when
I get around to my next project....
At this stage I will be painting it white - but this could all change... Whatever colour, it must be easy to look after as I plan on using this car
off road (no on-road only, off-roader for me thanks!)
It is based on a '65 shell.
along with these projects I also have a '72 twin cab Kombi (in need of lots of work...actually that is an understatement!) and a
(<shudder> '79 Audi 100 5E CD - which just won't go away!
The Audi is registered, but hasn't moved for around 18 months thanks to a company car!!
I will try to find a pic of the Kombi and post it soon, so that you can have a laugh at it!!:o

Sorry typ-fre, but I am not planning on selling the 5 spokes in the near future - I will keep you in mind if the situation changes.
BTW, the 5 spokes are actually Rocket Industries replicas (very early replicas, I am informed) and I am trying to find a set of centercaps for them.
The back wheels are not so much of a problem - plenty of clearance between the center axel nut and the wheel, but the front is another story. You
would be lucky to be able to fit 2 pieces of paper between the wheel and the brake drum "snout", so fitting a plastic cap is out of the
question. I have seen old photos of cars fitted with these wheels, and the caps appear to be made of tin (or some similar thin metal. They are just
simple domes, chromed in most cases (or perhaps polished - I'm not sure!) Can anyone shed any light on the construction of the centrecaps, or
perhaps you have a close up photo of the originals, or better still you have an original centrecap (Is is for sale?) Any info would be a great help.
Even if you know someone who would be able to press something that would fit please let me know!! :thumb
