What my baby looked like soon after I bought her.
[Edited on 13-10-2003 by vw_carrera]
After owning the old girl for quiet some time now, she has gone from stock hight and wheels, to white walls and dropped, an engine then g/box rebuild, disk brakes with Porsche 16 X 7” BBS’and a pearl respray (someone jumped on the roof when she was parked outside of a nightclub on my 23rd B’day and shortly afterwards I ran up my bro’s Pug 504 whilst waving to a girl : ( )
Not to mention countless $’s on heaps of other bits and pieces like the 1976 Nardi S/wheel that originally had it’s home in a 356.
Because of the state she is in (floorpan is almost non existant, F/end not as straight as I’d like and riddled with wiring problems) I purchased a near perfect ’66 shell that hasn’t been registered since 1983!!!
So I have already given the entire F/end, the rear brakes and trigger quick shift to the shell.
Lipped all four wings and as you will see in the next series of pics, in order to fit 16X7” clad in 205 45’s (without resorting to using early
beetle axles Empi ; ) I stretched the mothers out, which gives it a subtle puffed out look.
After lippin' the rear wings just a little muscle
And viola!
Now we can easily fit huge @rse rubber in the rear!!!

Oh yeah... And go the red trim. Give it the sled look
[Edited on 13-10-2003 by Cam]
how the hell do you sptray with a vaccume cleaner?
It's an electrolux. They have a blow outlet and come with these delicate spray guns which are glass.
My Dad used to mess with Big Block Chev anything's in the 70s and helped build a speedboat which held some Mexican river record for over 2
decades. They used to use normal spray gear and then one day one of the guys had used an electrolux on something and figured he'd give it a go
and see how it looked on one of the boats. Turned out awesome (because of how delicate it sprayed) so when we needed to respray a beetle decklid and
guards we used one that we found in a cupboard. This was right before Day Of' one year and Adam was messing around with some stuff on his beetle
at my place too. We did'nt believe my old man when he wanted to give it a shot, but our faces hit the floor at the end result. The rest of the
car looked shit anyway and then there were these showroom quality panels. It was insane!
We're going to use it on my fasty as well, however this time my girlfriend will be using it, since I'm unable to spray cars anymore
I'll post somee photo's of it next week dudes for all to see.
And your so right Cam, they're great!
You should see the faces of unbeleivers when I tell them that I'm sprayin' my car with a vaccum cleaner. (which by the way worx best when
switched to reverse cycle)
