Hey there, first time caller, long time listener
well, i've always wanted an early bug, and as my other car is off the road for a month (being turbocharged!) i figured i needed something to get
around in. so after looking around for a while, i found this:
it's a Ruby Red 62. 1300 engine, pretty much stock as a rock - apart from the stereo and the fire extinguisher
and for some reason the left rear wheel is blue, when all the others are red/white...but then again, the whole car needs a respray really
plans? dunno. i'm *probably* going to keep it as a spare/occasional driver...and if i do, i'll slowly turn it semi cal-look. or i'll
just dump it to the ground
if you see me around in the next few weeks, feel free to say say hi
somewhere in between south melbourne and ringwood...
cheers
Dan
Welcome to the forum Dan. I get down to your neck of the woods about once a month or so, I'll keep an eye out for you. :thumb There's quite
a few forum members down your way; Helbus and Aussie BLKBUG are two that I'm aware of.
We're meeting this weekend at 10 am for our cruise to Marysville this Saturday, you're more than welcome to come down and say
g'day!
doh! i completely forgot to check this...next time i'll come!
nice, just like mine but red, got any more pics?
it looks like You have found Yourself one nice early Beetle.. how about some more photos..if a coloured wheel is the only problem.. You have it made... Welcome to the Group.:thumb:thumb:o
only one other pic that i had to take for work (don't ask!)
and the wheels was the only problem until yesterday, when it ate the jet inside the carby, and i had no get a new one :o lol
but it's all good now
Welcome to the Forum Dan. I hope you keep the 62 and it treats you well. I never do as I'm told. Explain why you needed to stand on your sweet 62
for work.
Get yourself an idiots Guide for your new ride and have a read. They truly are the best cars to live with if your lacking a passion.
well, i write a column for fast fours (online section) , and they wanted a pic of me and my car. and as i don't have my astina around at the
moment, i had to use the bug. and as they needed it quickly, i had to use one of the digital cameras at work. and as the batteries were flat, and
there were no outside powerpoints, the pic had to be taken from the 3rd floor of the building. so that limited photo opportunities. the reason for the
'seafarer' look was because i was attempting to see throught the mirror windows of the building...
you did ask :P
and i have been meaning to get one of those -i'll eventually get around to it!
and thanks for the warm welcome, everybody
That's what were all about here, Warm welcomes. I got one and so does almost everyone else new to the forum.
You story is what makes the Aussieveedubbers forum unique. People from all walks, finding, loving and enjoying their daks. A picture says a 1000
words, your was an interesting 1000, well almost. Thanks.
