Here 'tis! "The Buggy". I've had it 7yrs now. Bought it down South Coast NSW in a bad way, cracked guards, bonnet, sad old blue
top. Got a good friend to reinforce the guards with aluminium plates and full respray in two pack. Girlfriend (now wife) got a new black top made up.
Its a J&S body SWB, 1835cc with dual Weber. I've had little problems, what the local VW shop calls "typical" eg bush for the
starter motor, thrust bearing and two king pins(one each side). These photos are about 2 years old, one shows old rego then wife got new plates to go
with it. I call it "My other Girl". Hope you enjoy!

cant seem to get the pics up. htey take forevr.... i wanna c em:bounce
More info: from what I can gather from the engine and chassis no, the donor was from 1960, not sure what type that makes it? Hence the plate BUG-60Y, but some people have commented it reads as BUG-b0Y!
oooh. i c it now. is that a 'lownose'. i know there are three or four different styles of JnS. nic. you taking it to stockton this weekend.
I didn't even know how many types there were! Info seems very scarce...
mine doesnt have the JnS logo on the side. has a ridge in the centre of hte bonnet rather than the recess. also there are no cutouts for hte knees in the dash. you will see another one (jnsblue/mark) his is the same as mine except for the logo and the cutouts in the dash. but i have seen four variants now, all the same basic design- just subtle differences.

Looks good, yeah I reckon its BUG bOY too....I've only seen the bonnets with the ridge , not the recess...
Nice ride.
Nice buggy. Would be great to see it at Stockton on the weekend - not sure how far away you live though.
It certainly is a low nose job, which I think look better than the standard higher bonnet.
Am interested to know what the 4 "bolts" coming up through the fibreglass above the motor are for. And also, what sort of webbers do you
have on it ?
Mark.
Thanks for great comments!
The 4 "bolts" are chrome screws that go thru to a square frame underneath. It doesn't support anything or do any reinforcing. Initially
I thought it was a spare tyre mount but then there is way too much weight swinging off the end and it would eventually breakaway. They are a mystery
but somehow add to the look! The webers I cant remember but will find out over next few weeks as I gear up for warmer weather.
Also not going to Stockton. Didn't even know about it until a few days ago when i found this great site!
It looks like a lot of fun...
