Thses are some photos of my 74 type 1. The first one is from a Khanacross, The bug seems to do well in these events. I have just got a set of rally
tires to help get a bit more traction from it
heres another one from thre Khanacross, the car is a daily driver, that runs a 1776cc motor, with lightened flywheel, fully balanced internals, w-100 cam, fully ported and polished heads, dual 40mm dells, extractors, 009, strengthened rockers.
here's it in action at its first (and mine) hillclimb, The car did pretty well, and we got most improved for the day. it runs Koni's front inserts, KYB rear shocks, std springs and rear torsion bars, 185/65r15 tires(falken) on 5.5 inch rims and stock ride height. Iam playing around with different sway bars on each end at the moment trying to get a compromise between road, 90%, dirt 6% and track 4%.
heres a final shot from after the hillclimb, the day went well except for one error on the final run, which caused a argument with a rock wall.....
oops...looks like the wall won that round other than that looks like a
great day
It certainly looks like you had the boot into it on that first shot! :thumb
I like seeing Vdubs laying down two furrows in rally race circuits. I was just talking to a bloke the other day who told me about a rally clubs track not far from where I live. Would love to go out one weekend as their's some pretty tough bug that visit and their drivers arn't short of a quid either.
