I just picked up this gem, came fron out west, last rego was '81. has a few dents and a little rust in the outer sills and a couple of small
holes in the floor, and thats it.
It is very complete and original, even still has the key in the ignition.
Check the pics.
mmmm the big panel, never been hit.
There is a couple of dings on the LH side, but nothing bad.
Man.... now THAT is lovely! :kiss
Keep it if you can. Dont reckon you would get a nicer base than that one!
If you have the space - yep keep it!
Hmmm.... complete ones are still obviously out there.
sure its a '62? it has the lights of a 60/61 and no fuel guage. only aftermarket.
if you dont keep it and want to sell it on to me at a fair cost (ie no mark up) i would be interested. thanks.
Build date is October '61, that makes it a '62 model.
mines mar '62. thats a 62. and it has fuel guage and 1 piece tail lights.
The chassis number on this one is 661230,
I just double checked it on Vintage bus and it was made in Oct '60, so it is a '61.
NAD....:bounce are you keepin' it. or passing it on...:kiss
Dunno, I will see what happens!
keep it mate. that is nice.:thumb
omg goodness, thats gorgeous!!
Very nice.:thumb:thumb:thumb
Oh Thats a keeper for sure.
Whats out back Dave? Camper or seats? Great looking bus. You can't replace that virgin unrestored look!
very nice bus Dave. keep you off the road for a while eh!!!
Very nice dave! I obviously have do not have the correct 'nose'! I've never found a bus as clean as this one looks - mine seems to
work as an iron oxide detector!
It's clean in the rear of the front wheel wells and around the jack points etc? Obviously stored inside?
Very nice find!
RobK
Hold on to it! their getting harder and harder to find now days!
Rob.....
naaaaaaaa..... dont store it. you gotta use it or pass it onto another forum member who will get it sorted as a driver for sure. am happy to take the challenge. you could end up leavin' it and one day it will be
covered in weed and you will think 'what the '?' :bounce :bounce :bounce
Steve,
Its just a window van, nothing in the back.
I found some old paperwork under the seat with the original owners name and address on it. turns out it came from just up the road from where I grew
up, Carcoar, I lived in Cowra, small world
It looks fantastic and exactly up my alley.
If you decide that you don't want it - I'm willing and financially able to take that beauty off your
hands.
Seriously!
Air is cool, but air-cooled is cooler!
Man I wish I had a few bucks!
Good luck if you keep it Dave or whom ever buys if he sells...
Mmm.... That bus is too nice. :thumb
Steven
Buggar I was in Carcoar the other week... nice find
That Dave, is one sweet prospect. Keep us posted on what you're going to do with this baby. My parents used to live at Grenfell, and every trip I
took out that way, I wondered what might be lurking in some of those sheds.
Squiz......
Spent the weekend working on the new van, cleaning all the dust and mud from the engine bay and under the chassis, what a job, but no nasty
surprises.
There must have been 4 inches of dust around the fuel tank.
Pressure cleaning the mud off the bottom, Iam sure it weighs 20 KGs less now!
I love this pic of the big panel
My boys cruizin'
I have the new sill sections coming from Andrew in SA, and need to fix a couple of holes in the flood in the back and it should be rust free then.
that's a sweet split!!!
amazing that something so old is still virtually rust free:thumb
kai
dohhh... so ya decided to keep it, huh!
:cry
Probably not, just makin it nicer to sell
hmmmm.
keep me posted.
man you must have something pretty special if your willing to sell that.....
What an awsome find.
