G'day Everyone,
Went and got my new 53 Oval yesterday! Santa came early to my house hold!
It seemt that some of the hard to find parts were there as well....ie the"Speedo"!
Here are a few photo's. Will keep everyone informed as things go for the resto.
Cheers

The body number is 506710, I will give the Chassis number this arvo.

Nice score, wheres it been for the last 50yrs in the desert, good luck with the project, itl keep you off the streets for a coupla yrs.:thumb
man Ur lucky, looks in real good nic for its age!
As I have had it home for a full day now, I have started to go over it; the following is what i have found.
1. Nil rust....any where.
2. Never been in an accident, all cornors are straight as if it came out of the factory yesterday.
3. Have found a few small stress cracks here and there. (4 to count so far)
4. The pan, breaks, front end, gearbox and motor have been rebuilt by the previous owner.
5. The downer to this is that a 3rd party (see panalbeater) that was employed by the loast owner took it upon himself to cut the roof and the dash
So there ya have it! I have been directed by "She who must be obayed-(wife)" that the resto will commence once all the missing parts are
found.....i am yet to compile that list, however it is going to take some time (about 2 days). Once all parts are accounted for let the fun begin.
I think I will be spending alot of time on the ebay site.
Idea of a resto: back to factory spec colour(Black/Chocolate) , standard tyres and ride hight with a delux factory interiour and an Okrasa Motor (I
wish)
Cheers
