Hi All
Only found the site recently and was very glad to find so much info and intrest.
My cabrio was only recently acquired in Perth. Found it sitting in an Auto Wholesaler warehouse and could not believe my luck. I also have a 68
Semi-auto but have left that in Tassie and may yet bring it over to Perth once it's respray etc is complete. If there are any other
semi-auto's out there let me know as they seem to be getting few and far between.
Hi There!

Hello hello and welcome.
I think I saw you car advertised about 2 years ago in perth.
(I keep all clippings from Unique Cars etc.. where I see a Cabrio)
Will try and find it.....
Hi
Would love to see any old adds you have of the car. the guy I bought it off said he had hadit for approx 4 yrs and used to let his wife drive it
around. As far as I can tell it has been in Aus since new and is an original right hand drive.
At the WA day of the Volkswagon in early Dec 2003 we had 4 original cabrios turn up which was excellent and between us we know of another 3, 2 of
which are under restoration and will hopefully make it along next year.
Does anyone have any idea of how many Cabrio's there would be in Australia? or if there is a register of them.
Well, not sure how many here, but they were never sold here.
NIce car...

What - ALL verts were imported????
Even back in the 60's and 70's they were not sold here??
Correct....Thats why you dont see to may of them around.
N!
I'm positive they were sold for only 6 months in the winter of '64, from melbourne dealers.
I reckon there are about 80-90 in Australia although I read somewhere there could be 150 of them.
There was a white one at the Carabian Garden shindig, it was approx a 64 I think, and the owner said that only 8 were ever imported in by the official importor. All during this year.
Yeah But Im pretty sure they werent as a "official" sale vehicle.
