Congratulations. Very Cool. Mmm 1970. Looks like mine...
Looks like mine too....including the 1641
(except mines a '69)
good model to find any parts for,,,,
looking good..
cheers
Thanks
Yeah the compliance plate says 1970 but I think its a '69 model judging by the chassis number.
More pics soon
it's a 70 if that's the decklid it came with
I'm not sure whether the decklid is original. I assumed that the previous owner put on that decklid to get more cooling happening when they put in the 1641.
Mine was originally reg'd as a 1970 but was later told it was built in 1969 and it has the same decklid as *did*'s.
Finally got a hold of a set of bolts (from Wolfsburg in Essendon) to put on my mags. 14x6's (205's) on the front, 14x7's (225's) on the back.
Hehe wide and low.

What alloys? I only had a set of mags, and they're on the bug now

so you're sticking with da wide ones then? what bout the rubbing etc?
how about these for the back?

Yup, I really do need some wide guards to make it legal I think.
Wide guards on!
Did get a set in the right colour, but they were to suit a superbug, or at least a later bug, not exactly sure.
looks like some one needds to lower their bug a bit more.....
Yeah I know!
The front is so high compared to the back
It didn't look good at all without the bumpers, but i like it now because it looks slightly more original.
BTW, the NSW number plates aren't valid, its just so i can go for a spin around the block.

Mmmmmm
Me got a 70 as well, theres lots that can be done with a 1500 beetle, like stick a 2.0 ltr in it.
Catcha Ya
hehehe
your bug looks like a badger!
