1303Steve - February 18th, 2004 at 09:09 PM

Hi Craig

Is that Paul Mullers old car? If it is it was built as Powertune car in the early 80s for a guy in Newcastle and had very good reputation in street drags up there.

Craig Torrens - February 18th, 2004 at 09:22 PM

It was Steve Mullers old rally car. Not much left of that now though :D

1303Steve - February 18th, 2004 at 09:28 PM

Hi Craig

It might still be it, Steve always used 1500 semi autos but I think he built this 76 for a special class.

Craig Torrens - February 18th, 2004 at 09:34 PM

Looks like I need to go to Newcastle and revive its past then :D:D

Street Drags.............................I can smell the rubber already

I don't think its the same car though. When I bought it from Steve I had to remove the "stuff" he wanted which included the motor, gearbox, rear brakes (type 4) and front brakes(type 4). The rest of the car was pretty much standard except for the rollcage. So not too sure what powertune would have done ??

I know his brother had a white one with blue wheels , maybe this is the one your thinking of ?

Hi

If I see it in flesh I might be able to show you something I did on it, that 999 might not touched. The Type 4 brakes, were they on steel adaptors? They were off the Pauls 76, it was bought as an insurance wreck for Paul to put on the road, when it was noticed that it had the Type 4 Powertune front brakes they were taken for Steves 1500 rally car.

So how does this thing go now with the 8 plugs?

Or have you put the extra ones into one of your street cars.

Come on, it's your turn to show some progress on your car!

Is that all you have to say?

I was thinking of the EFI route for smoothness down low, daily driving etc. (maybe my base 1916, maybe new one). Do you think I'll need it with the twin plugs?

Are you testing,

just lapping for giggles,

racing for giggles, or

racing?

Ahh, just checked CAMS, Hillclimbing (racing). I'm on a day-shift so won't be able to make it. Maybe Bulladelah and Grafton though.
