mate. youve picked up a beauty, and i bet your still smiling everytime you look at her. get that landscaping shit out of hte way fast, so can get on with more important stuff, like making us all 'green' with eny!

and sounds to me there might be more goodies from where that baby came.

greenbus - March 7th, 2004 at 09:23 PM

hey guys,...
my plans for the bus are ( for the moment ) are as follows...beige grey top, burnt orange bottom (similar to sealing wax red, but with a bit more orange to boost her a bit), already has factory safaris, all trims polished, lowered (but no damage to be done anywhere, so that it can be restored to original if I so desired).
I have interior panels and they will be restored to original patterns. Have'nt thought about wheels or mechanicals yet...

regards

Nice find. Looking forward to seeing this one on the road.

Keep us updated on the progress.

PS: It's hard not to be jealous. We all would love to have a 23 window bus in our garage:D

All deluxes should have the square clock hole.Either it got smacked in the front and some one replaced it with a normal front or dash and done a top job.....or you have a left hand drive conversion job well done. The red oxide on the dash is suss?.
Either way you have scored what most dream of......

kombi_kid - March 11th, 2004 at 06:45 AM

also looks abit suss as it has a fuel guage hole!!! 1960 models didnt have these or am i confused cause its a microbus???

I dont think it LHD as it has the cargo doors on the right (correct) side for a RHD bus. Whats the chassis number, or more imporantly the details on the M-code plate. It will tell you what it did and didnt have.

I have an M-code listing that came with my splitty birth cert if you want me to check.

Nice bus, and you lucky bugger, you've made me believe that rocking horse poop is actually real!!!

Cheers

Steve

bus356 - March 11th, 2004 at 06:36 PM

all those funny windows in the roof would make it too hot in summer...

BenettonVW - March 11th, 2004 at 07:38 PM

Yeah I don't think I like those windowy holey things, not very private..

bugboymatt - March 11th, 2004 at 07:45 PM

:o OMG !!!

greenbus - March 11th, 2004 at 09:26 PM

I haven't come across m-plate yet, if I ever do... I'll have to have a closer look at the dash to work out what has gone on..it definitly hasn't been smashed, although two owners ago the guy was going to turn it into a camper and so may have started doing some dodgy mods. He's tacked in alot of plates like below the front (which does'nt allow for fitment of bumper), over the rear guards, over the rust in the cab floor etc. Not to mention the bodged up third set of tail lights - which I will hopefully weld up this weekend - they annoy me! Why can't people resist doing these dodgy mods...I can only but ponder....
talk soon

Very Nice!!!!:cool::thumb

I think we can all see the potential!!!:)

Have fun!!

kombi_kid - March 12th, 2004 at 06:43 AM

i know what u mean by dodgy repairs on my 55 model they turned it into a trailer and to make it lighter they chopped out the full torsion tubes with everything, welded over the guards and made a 2 axle trailer (also removed the front end) and had a hitch coming out of it!!!
oh let the fun begin!!
cheers
