Before lowering/wheels but the only pic I`ve got where you can see the shed hinge side door!
This was Bugsperience at York Raceway in UK, `98 I think.

Yeah Kai, it was like a patchwork of old steel with a perforated section (side of an old microwave I think!!) this was to aid cooling on high speed cruises!!
Also had the inside of a fridge door behind the passenger seat/cab divider for all those essential skinning up apparatus!
This was the interior shot. That`s an old mate Ange who`s got the baby blue and white `71 Bug on one of the Bug Jam pics.

This was it`s first run out (to Bug Jam `98) after hours of work by myself and Matt.
Trailered it back from a farm in deepest Cheshire about 2 weeks before Bug Jam.
Bought it for the factory re-con engine (paid 150 quid for the whole lot).
The sliding door was lying on the ground when I went to view it hence the quick but very funky shed hinge repair (the slider channel had completely rotted out).
Welded up all the structural stuff. Bogged, Duct Taped all the cosmetic stuff and painted with shipping container (literally!) red oxide with a brush. Then dusted with the matt black.
We ripped off the old pop-top and got my Mum to sew up a piece of Vinyl for a Rag-Top which we press studded in place, you could fold it up to look like the real thing (honest!!).
Gears were dodgy but it got us to heaps of shows, never missed a beat!!!
Gotta be happy with that!
Check out the engine lid barbie I made one cold dark pissed stoned pilled up night!!
