This is the lattest rush job for a daily driver

Metalic looks crap when you first spray it. 1200 paper, water rubbing compound and then carnuba wax it'll be a million bucks! Nice color (that was
my color choice before I went Gumby Green).
Brendan
:jesus
Sounds like you've done this before Brendan :-)
Roger
1200 and then "Brass o", works wonders:thumb
VW0064 mine looked just like yours after I'd finished painting (I had not painted a car since 1986). Apply that magic thing called elbow grease and
persistance and look at the result.

Your Bug would look great with the wheel centres painted the metalic blue instead of the gold. Lot of masking though.
Brendan
very nice:kiss
U2U brendan........rather than hijack this thread
Hijack away i don't mind.
Infact it gives me the motivation to keep going on trying, when i see other peoples projects
Softop, no worries. I'll test it out for the future.
64 is that the new polisher above the beetle in the second pic? .. throw the wax on and hope for 20 knot winds.
Jokes aside, very nice color and job, shiny gunmetal looks classy on any car.
Brendan
Well, I was going to post a pic but I'm damned if I can get it as big as yours and keep it under 50kb!
Roger
Ok, lets see if this works........
Cool, it actually worked! the pic makes the paint look good
Actually in real life it feels like sandpaper and looks like the Previous owner (I've had it for about 3mths) ran around the car with a can of paint
each.
One with a can of blue and one with a can of black!
I'll try the 1200 and some cutting compound and see what happens.
Roj.
AArrgghh, must be nearly bedtime.......that should have read......
"the Previous owner AND HIS MATE (I've had it for about 3mths) ran around the car with a can of paint each."
Sweet
looks like the same blue
<These are some i started and have since given them up to people with more energy>
I know what you mean, I had the same feelings with my other toys.
I had 2 V12 Jags (only one now) the paint was'nt the problem, keeping up with the mechanicals was though.
Roger.
I was under hte impression that with metallic paints you spray the paint then spray the clear coats and polish over the clear coats...least that what
spray painters have told me
Lindon
Na
just the same paint.
I've got 12 litres of it. I've been spraying everything in it.:P
hahaha jason i never saw this post, dont b so har on urself its good, keep going with it dont sell it
Getting bord with it though.
I think i might scrap it.
[Edited on 6-5-2004 by vw0064]
ur almost there, keep going, even if u finish it off and dont want it, u will be able to sell it instead of just scrapping it now.
like my wife always says. There'll be no "unfinished projects" being sold off for bargain prices. Finish it and sell it if you must, but I reckon
you might decide to keep it after you get a few compliments out on the road.
"hang in there little camper"
Yeah,
Keeping it till its finished but its of to the Blasters to remove its new coat of crap paint , and then i am leaving it to the pro's.
I've had enough of dealing with this metal crap.
Give me fibreglass to play with anyday.
well then its decided, u cant go back now
r u sending it the painters u talked about?
mainline smash repairs.
Cheap but not bad
man i think that looked sweet, why do u want a show paint job when its just gunna get scratched anyhow
