*did* - April 11th, 2004 at 04:07 PM

Hey I can only see two pedals! It's an auto :(
Very nice dash and engine though.

Kai.A. - April 11th, 2004 at 04:09 PM

i'd say you can see the clutch and brake, accelerator will be hidden behind them, one of those little 'wheel' type ones i guess...

kai

bugboymatt - April 11th, 2004 at 05:27 PM

Auto oval !!! umm i think as KAi stated you carn't see the accel peddle, roller style just like moi's oval !!!

*did* - April 11th, 2004 at 06:06 PM

Hmm, yeah on closer inspection i think i can see it just behind the brake pedal.
But don't just think 'hey its an oval, it cant be auto'... they did change the engine.

bugboymatt - April 11th, 2004 at 06:10 PM

True but i think this kinda gives it away !!!!
"It runs a Fuel injected 2.8 type 4 motor with a porsche 5 speed box"
But your right don't just take things at face value !!

baybuscamperkid - April 11th, 2004 at 08:18 PM

wow! insanely good job on the custom interior!

VWFOOL - April 12th, 2004 at 06:17 PM

wat u cant see is a detailed billet roller ball pedal behind the brake pedal. all the knobs are billet too for the power windows, central locking etc, heater etc. all made by the owner on his lathe. the engine was sourced from NZ im pretty sure, out of a sand rail maybe? all i know is that its gots some serious power.

did i mention this is a daily driver?
a very welcome member of DNVK.

kombi_kid - April 12th, 2004 at 06:59 PM

kombiluva - April 12th, 2004 at 07:30 PM

Fuel injected....???

Where are the injectors on those Throttle bodies/inlet manifolds...and the wire loom?? Is that a fuel pressure regulator i see on the fire wall? mmmmmm me thinks it is carbied...not EFI...

Other then that....A GREAT CAR...not to be overlooked...EFI or No EFI...SUPURB!

kombi_kid - April 12th, 2004 at 07:38 PM

yer thats what i was thinking nice fuel injected carbies!!!
cheers

ducky - April 12th, 2004 at 09:48 PM

very very nice for a beetle

1303Steve - April 12th, 2004 at 09:55 PM

Hi

Nice car, but it looks like it has carbs, maybe its an old photo.

1302Steve

VWFOOL - April 12th, 2004 at 10:59 PM

just to clarify, i took those pics before he went fuel injected, i think the carbies were being starved by the porsche fan or sumthing, and yes the car is comprehensively insured and for a fair amount of $$ too.

Robo - April 13th, 2004 at 08:41 AM

Very nice, they have to be very proud about that work!
Rob...

killakornkobb - April 13th, 2004 at 10:26 AM

why does everyone crack the sads when they think a car is an auto?!?! in the dubs case its just clutchless shift, which makes still gives 100% of the engine.. just dont hafta use the clutch pedal! theyre very fun to ride no less a dub. :|

HotRodMatt - April 13th, 2004 at 02:37 PM

It could be an ICV ???

jakjones - April 13th, 2004 at 07:10 PM

a 933 kg Oval , I don't think so..
some ones telling porkeys....................................................................................................................

wich engineer did you say ?

1303Steve - April 14th, 2004 at 09:37 AM

Hi vw0064

No need to get upset about it, its a NSW RTA rule, stock factory weight X 3 for a NA motor or stock factory weight X 2.5 for a forced induction motors. Maybe theres a loophole he snuck through? If there is Id like to know about it.

bugboymatt - April 14th, 2004 at 10:02 AM

Hope the bloke who's car it is wasn't thinking of joining Aussieveedubbers !
All the negativity would put you off !
I for one like tha car and think he's done a great job.
Street rego'd with that engine in it ! Good for him. If he has managed to do it and others have got stuck no need to be bitter. Should be supportive not just shoot him down !
He might just be able to help others if he found ways round / loop holes in things !
They did it themselves.
Just my 2 cents worth.

VWFOOL - April 14th, 2004 at 10:48 AM

dont worry jason its just jealousy
