Kombi with a 4.4L V8 now with mpeg!!
wacked1 - April 17th, 2004 at 05:27 PM

This is my new ride it’s a 78 Kombi with a 4.4L V8. It looks a little rough now but as soon as I get it will remove
the wheels 15” merc wheels. Do some body work lower it as it is raised at the moment and give it a quick coat of matt black I'm also thinking of
putting silver racing stripes on it till it gets it propper paint scheme.

follow this link and download a little mpeg and hear what it sounds like!!

bugboymatt - April 17th, 2004 at 06:08 PM

Looks tuff mate,

baybuscamperkid - April 17th, 2004 at 07:49 PM

very cool. how low will you be able to go thoug, with the engine sticking out the bottom?

wacked1 - April 18th, 2004 at 11:18 AM

Actually, this conversion doesn’t hang down as much as my last V6 or any scoobys I've seen. I'm loosing the rear tow bar and redesigning the exhaust before it gets there, twin 4 inch outlets about 60cm apart.

kroozzn63 - April 18th, 2004 at 11:43 AM

your a step ahead of me ive removed my bull bars havent painted yet
soon to be dropped 5 inches from standard height
Hey how much did it cost you for the merc rims and to fit stud pattern?

wacked1 - April 18th, 2004 at 05:35 PM

56ovaltine the rim go straight on actually the rims are for sale (the ones in the fourth pic) i'm after about $350 they have excellent tyers and the fronts are orig white walls and the back have newish firestones on them (no retreads) they are in the western suburbs of Sydney not too far for you to come!

Doug Sweetman - April 19th, 2004 at 09:55 AM

excellent !!!!

Cant wait to see your dyno results ! - I always got the feeling that there is a heap more power hidden in that motor - hopefully you can unleash some of it......

Rims are sweet !

Will sound the goods with the exhaust you are describing too !!!!

When finished, make sure you get some video footage up on the web somewhere please !

wacked1 - April 20th, 2004 at 10:39 AM

Yes Doug there is a lot of potential especially seeing the distributor is shot and the exhaust is killing it and the inlet manifold and carbie are a little small. Will get some video of it soon, maybe on the dyno or in a back street.

Doug Sweetman - April 20th, 2004 at 02:13 PM

Cant wait.

Still kicking myself that I had to sell that bus........ Still you sound like you deserve and appreciate it !!

Cruzin in a Golf - April 20th, 2004 at 03:35 PM

wacked1 - April 20th, 2004 at 06:01 PM

wacked1 - May 10th, 2004 at 06:46 PM

I got these for the bus today I have been toying with the idea of turbos or supercharger, turbos won. The set up is a twin turbo off a supra, but I won’t "just" be running these. Will let you know a little more later, gotta go.
