My 69 Karmann Ghia LHD
VWFREAK - June 1st, 2004 at 05:12 PM

My old girl has recently gone from a stock rocker to an old school custom (bolt on only, I hate drilling hole). The list of mods to come is a mile long so keep an eye out on the forum and watch her change. She actually won best Karmann at the Blast from the Past in Berry at her 1st show in Australia ( I'm a proud dad, lol.) More pics to come

Check out the pics below.

BUGBOY - August 21st, 2004 at 08:55 PM

Yeah you got it mate!
White walls look great and really suit your ride.
So whats next as you tick off your list?

buzzbug - August 21st, 2004 at 09:06 PM

hey pete that looks great.
lets hope that they don't rub like your other tyres!

VWFREAK - August 23rd, 2004 at 08:16 AM

Next on the list is T1 2.2Lt with 44 IDF's or 48 IDA's. I'm also looking at dropping the old girl on her guts. I'm also toying with a supercharger at the moment.

VWFREAK - August 23rd, 2004 at 08:18 AM

Lee, there actually the same tyres with latex paint on whitewalls, $30 ea, from the whitewall guy in Sydney.

karmen - October 4th, 2004 at 10:32 PM

My KG 60
needs a hood stick (?) as well as yours due to the twin Dellortos....is that chrome bar an accessory or home-made?

Had thought of the hydraulic ones but yours lookhs good.
What size engine..

I'll e-mail you a pic and ya might post it for me ...95% resto..
thanx

VWFREAK - October 5th, 2004 at 03:58 PM

Home made, I actually used a chromed curtain rod from a hardware store with black rubber chair stops on either end. All up it costed about $15.00.

Looks pretty cool and adds more shinny bit to the engine bay.

karmen - October 5th, 2004 at 08:25 PM

I might hinge bolt it to the bootcatch so as that only half the chance of slippin and a bicycle pump type spring clip at the side to hold the bar and not allow it to rattle..
thought may be a bathroom towel rod ao what you called it.

The steering wheel looks a bit woglike if ya dont mind.....to me...he ha ho yassou.......bit lairie
what brandname him bee.

The steering wheel is actualy a Billet repo, you can pick them up from Autopro for $280 and $350 with the bosh.

It's actually called old school custom, not woggy.lol.

If you thinl thats woggy you should see all the shiny bits in my garage for my prjects.

VWFREAK - October 6th, 2004 at 04:12 PM

You'll find it easier to keep the bar in the car. I keep it beside the drivers seat near the heater channel and it dosen't get in the way or bounce around.
