DIY-DUB - June 19th, 2004 at 07:22 PM

VWCOOL - June 20th, 2004 at 09:33 AM

DIY-DUB - September 7th, 2004 at 10:21 AM

Ok first it went bumperless but that didnt last cause it needed to be ground scraping 2 look good and since its not classic looking i put the kit on, less whale tail and custom side bits at the moment cause they arent finished yet

Now the person who owns the fat wheels should know why i want them

DIY-DUB - September 8th, 2004 at 07:41 AM

come on people u gotta have an opinion, what do u think? also i was refering 2 the fat wheels @ CBB, They are stock style wheels just wider, How much has this type thing sold for b4?

Starbug - September 8th, 2004 at 11:30 AM

are those flared guards? if so, where did u get the rear ones? ive got flared guards on my bug but with the big elephant foot tail lights from a superbug (mines a 68) and seeing as how im going to be doing some cosmetic stuff to my car this chrisy hols, i wanna change the rear taillights to original ones.

its looking good! but take the eyelids off if you are putting a kit on it, and get some driving lights for the front bumper.

i may be selling my kit/bits of my kit soon so let me know if you are interested.

Pick your wheels carefully.

You need to lower the front of a super to get t look and handle.

IF you are going Porsche pattern or wide at the front you need to get thin springs - which means a new strut set up.

You want to make sure the offset is right and the wheel fills the guard.

Wide guards with a fat wheel sitting 4" in looks stupid. A normal wheel filling the guard would look heaps better.

It is all about offset.

I has running 195's x 16" under stock guards on the front of mine.

My friend is running 17" x 7" under stock guards.

Hi mate I spoke to you and your dad at the drive inn night
I have the V8 kombi. You do need to lower it. It’s coming up fine, although I'm not a fan of the Porsche kits this is looking alright. i would go for bigger wheels in width and diameter you need to fill out the guards as blue74l said.

Ps: if you want a front beam that’s adjustable let me know i want $150 for it
Cheers
Ron

Ron

pretty sure its a Super - a 1302

It has the wide nose.

With super's it's all about getting the nose right.
Look at Steve C's yellow bug.
Yes - he was running wide aero guards but he had the wheels to suit it.

Deiter Holzl is running 7"s under tghe front with stock.

That is his car in the V Force add in VWA - the green one with a selection of wheel's
Even ran some 18" under stock

DIY-DUB - September 10th, 2004 at 07:29 PM

Bout time someone said something, what should be done first lowering or wheels also what wide wheels can you get for a 4 bolt beetle? I Like The ATS ones, (similar 2 globe stars on XD falcons) But they wouldn't look 2 good on this i think, Also Porsche wheels are way 2 expensive for me, and it has a theme at the moment of the $20 dub, Bodykit and steering wheel were both$20 so i gave it a suiting name

DIY-DUB - September 12th, 2004 at 11:59 AM

Starbuggy yes they are wide arches on the back only about 2 inches more than stock but, got the arches and bumpers from CBB, whale tail that isn't on yet from volkshaven, have you got the side parts to go with the kit?

DIY-DUB - February 22nd, 2005 at 01:26 PM

photochoppers required: can some one do a dechromed, slammed thing on my dub on any of the above pics, maybe with some low proflie tyres on some phone dials or brm's or something

VWFOOL - February 22nd, 2005 at 11:07 PM

my opinion mate, get rid of that body kit, run it stock but slam it all the way down, dannyboy67 on here has some porsche phone dials like u want for around $600 with adaptors, sell that body kit and buy them, put them on and roll it like that. just my 2 cents.

Bizarre - February 23rd, 2005 at 07:05 AM

Just go the struts.

A nice sitting super looks cool as it is.

DIY-DUB - February 23rd, 2005 at 07:21 AM

how much do u lot reckon it would cost to lower it? ive been told the back is easy and anyone could do it but i wanna no more, wish i had the front apron wwith the vent bits in it they look way nicer

Bizarre - February 23rd, 2005 at 07:44 AM

Say $300 if you get some one to lower the cups on your struts or $1000 if you do it properly and get some adjustables

ColumBUS - February 24th, 2005 at 11:07 PM

hey man ill take the kit off you for the right price

DIY-DUB - March 1st, 2005 at 11:15 PM

squizy - March 2nd, 2005 at 12:08 AM

Yeah get rid of the kit and go back to the original guards. Then buy CT Hansens Sprintstars [fullnoise] off EBAY - currently $400 [a steal]. Then drop the front and the back and the rake of your car could get to mine. Check the pic.

squizy ur height is good, any issues while driving? and how much is it lowered? also if u have msn or something add me

squizy - March 2nd, 2005 at 12:28 AM

It's dropped about 2 inches all around. It now handles much better on the F3 - doesn't wander as much at speed, however need to be careful over speedhumps - and getting out of the driveway

Squiz....
