My Pair of Kombi's
matara - August 16th, 2004 at 11:26 AM

I finally got my Kombi's parked next to each other in the street, and took a couple of pics to show you all how similar 64-67 splits are with pre-72 kombis:-

First up here they are side by side. Splitty is a 65 devon camper split that is a UK model and driven across Africa in the 70's, the Bay is a 71 model with Microbus seats:-

I only learnt just recently that the rear hatch is the same on the 64-67 split as the 68-71 bay!

Ever wondered how much longer a Bay is than a split?

Plenty of room for your mates!

Both of my kombis have ex-army German Motors from 68-72. These motors had 50 hours and 25 hours respectively, and were held in an army reserve store in case of war and serviced every 10 years. Needless to say they run like clockwork.

The Bay is Flipper Blue and White, whilst the split is a custom blue mixed by my mate
