WOW - lots of work??

What is the rest of the bay like???

You will smile when it is all over! :bounce

soulsurfer - August 16th, 2004 at 05:35 PM

the drivers side door was marginally better, there are photos on a different thread if you search under my name then look at all my posts youll see them...recently. at this point not sure if rust is better or worse than the panel beating, the right side panels had no rust, just panel beating, rust has been in the normal spots really with a few surprises....got to keep it interesting!!

Mate, it is great you aren't cutting any corners (except the one you are cutting out)
It is gunna be the sweetest of busses when you are done..
Don't forget, these are 23 window busses of the future..

Just a question.... can you find a better door??? are these doors getting expensive now days??

Keep up the good work, i should be out there doing my 57 Safari, but we won't go there :D

soulsurfer - August 17th, 2004 at 09:25 AM

i did find a door locally but when the panel beater looked at it he reckoned after you added in the price of the door and what still needed to be done with it i was better of keeping the original door...the doors changed after 72 and pre 68, to the best of my understanding so...yes it is difficult to find them, atleast around here...and i guess you would have to expect to do work on any door that is 30 odd years old...

@ least it wasn't 30 to 50cm...
the only difference between this and a 23 window is a bit more light gets into them.
Oh yeah and these go round corners without falling over!
Mate it is gunna be a masterpiece when you are done...and for less than the price of a new falcon or similar and I mean similar.
