Gib-bug '57 Oval Project Part I
Gibbo - August 16th, 2004 at 05:41 PM

Hey all, thought I might start my own update post.

My project, very long term project, is a '57 Oval. Purchased from Brad (blup58) on this very forum on the 10th July this year.

The car is nothing but a shell, un-restored pan and two boxes of parts!

The shell had been sandblasted back to bare metal and some welding and restoration had been done.

All together a very clean '57!

Anyway here are some pics to start things off....

Are you heading for the balls out, quick as hell rebuild? If not, I've just bought a 58 as a donor car for my 57, but I'm sure there will be some stuff, I don't need, I know that it comes with 5 boxes of bits, but haven't scooted through them yet. The only prob is, I'm in the UK, but hopefully I should be sending a container to OZ in the next couple of months, the other half is going home first, I get to work in the UK for a few months longer. Not that I'm bitter at all, I like the UK winters!!
Forgot to mention, moving to the Noosa hinterland area, around Cooroy hopefully, but anywhere in that region we can get a decent plot of land, so not too far.

hey i live in carters ridge behind cooroy......nothing to do with the thread but i thought that was cool.

Next comes the strip and reconditioning of the pan....

In the next couple of months I hope....

Body is sitting very high at the back, due to the chassis and body mods not being done yet, and the front and rear will be dropped in the end.

Cheers all.
