i made this out of a piece of stailess plate at work,i cut it out with a 9 inch grinder then cleaned it up , bent a 12mm bolt cut of the thread and
welded it to the back of the star , after that i welded a 8 mm stainless set screw on the bottom of the bolt for mounting. the only reason i made
this is because when i got the bumpers chromed they didnt weld up a hole in the bumper.
i polished it up by using sand paper down to 1500 then steel wool and all metal polish . it took ages and now my girlfriend wants it .
any reason why you picked the star as the shape or was it just somethign you thought would look good ? (it does look good too )
is it just on the right side? it looks good... can you please send me high resolution pics of the whole car? i want it as my wallpaper!
NICE!!!
very nice. looks like it came with the car!
consider perhaps several of these stars down the sides, it could be the magic schoolbus!

Great job
Gives the bus a an air of individuality, sort of like a Tatoo.
Rob...
actually i got the idea of a mack truck that has a bunch of stars on it( my girlfriends family own a halling buisiness) so i set about making one up
for my bus. then i bought the volksworld mag and the sweetest rat twin cab has one on it aswell ,i dont know what or where his came from it has an
unreadable word under it but its way cool.
i am also making up another thing for the other side and its the number 265 ,the 2 is for type 2 and the 65 is for the year my bus is, i will post
pics of it when its done ,if it works out
i think you are thimking of the old safety stars
anyone got a pic for him ?
here is the lastest accessory i am working on for the front bumper . it is alittle ruff at the moment but with alittle more filling and a good polish
it will be as shiny as a star. oh and it also needs the mounting bolt welded on.
its made out of stainless plate ,it looks like 3 seperate numbers, but it is actually only little grooves ground into it between the numbers
