'75 Karmann Cabrio Beetle
Dolzz - October 6th, 2004 at 12:47 AM

This is my dad's '75 Karmann Cabrio Beetle
It was originally from Japan, so orginal RHD.
Burgundy exterior and Tan interior. Slightly lowered, Nardi steering wheel, EMPI short shift kit, stainless steel exhaust and Cromodora rims, decked out in full on 70's style! Has Air-Con can't see why in a convertible tho?? Has some quirky little features like the 2nd set of indicators near the fuel cap, HighCastle Air-con and original Yanase dealers plaque. The tops in bad shape but we've got a whole new WCM kit, just needs fitting. Any recommendations on who can??
Here's a coupla pics more to come soon.

Nice cab - love the colour.

For the top, try an outfit called Cool Trim in Peakhurst in Sydney. They did my last one - only because I was too busy/lazy at the time.

They have done quite a few.

I have done 2 before myself. It is not hard, just time consuming and fiddly. The scariest part is cutting the hole for the back window just after you have the whole top pefect!

Beautiful car, great color !!!!!

As for the air con ..... some days it is just TOO hot to drive with the roof down ...... It does come in handy !

oh oh oh.

Finally someone who has aircon in a RHD 1303 cab.

Could you please describe your system to me. Becuase I have converted my bug to RHD but purchased a second hand air con unit. The problem is I have no idea how to mount the unit which goes in the bonnet untop of the petrol tank. This is because the house for the fresh air fan and windscreen wipe assembly has moved to the other side now since it has been converted.

As we are putting a 1302 superbeetle convertible on road soon I would also be keen on all the info on the air con and if you have any pics of where everthing is located. Pam

Nice cab. Love the colour. Not sure about the indicators near the fuel filler....do they look orginal or after market?

I've got air con in mine too and was also a LHD-RHD convert. Tim....if you're in Sydney feel free to pop up and look at my install. Unfortunately it was done prior to me getting the car, but you might be able to still suss things out.

Squiz....
