Funny I own a black '61 too.....lol.
I had her for about nearly 6yrs.
Not much in the modified, she has just a few differences to a
standard...just mainly interior changes...
Best of luck with yours..

:sandrine...uummm flat black huh.
Mine is shiny black...lol.
Had the same steering wheel, now have original & been pearlcoated white.
My interier is black headliner (similar) & my seats are upholsted black with white trim & leather side panels with the a white VW emblem embrodered into the front & back seats....
Sounds like you have big plans too for yours as well.

eirecooled - October 24th, 2004 at 01:11 PM

Yes the '61 is the sweetest model.(I am LITTLE bias) Do you still have the 50/50 tailights or are you running the commoners. What are your colour plans back to original or another choice?

mountainbug - October 26th, 2004 at 07:08 PM

Currently got the 50/50 tailights, colour at this stage unsure.
Reason i painted black is that person before me painted with a spray can & it was flaking & peeling, so i thought wtf i'll do it over in black till i can afford the resto for the outside.
The funds will go for the motor (currently being built) & pan,
Inside has been restored.
Cheers
