Greetings All,
Well, as far as I can tell I've been working on Leo (the 62 twin cab)
for one year now...I am going to post a one year update and
he is looking really good. Dave (57Kombi) is nagging me for some pix but I really do want to wait until his new wheels
get in and I get them on him. I've been waiting for them for
many many months but 'they should be here next week' (hmmm).
(While I have plenty to do in the mean time I'm guessing there's others
here who went in on this offered wheel buy late last year and will be really spitting
chips if they don't have em by DOVW! )
Anyway, in the meantime here's a pic of Leo's donk......you
may notice some improvements over the stock type1 1300...
.....getting excited now and will start the sprint to make the next Nationals
soon!
regards
RobK
p.s. still gotta play with/modify the exhaust/heater boxes. Think
that's gonna be a nightmare!

Holy sh#t! Give us the specs. That looks beautiful!
mmmm shiney
man - you dont do things by halves, do you!
That is magic!
Is that a sharp built kit??
BTW
notice you have an alternator there. Any difference in the kits between alt and genny???
Leo on roids!
bewdiful
Nice Rob,
Barney in the background singing
Whaaaaaaaaaat about me !
hmmm...
It'd be easier to fit it into Barney's engine bay! Plenty
of headroom for a supercharger too ...and a built
short axle tranny would bolt right in.........
You are a true champion Rob. Leo is going to be one handsome twincab.
Very nice, can't wait to see it in your ride.
so the specs rob??? come on share them with us jealous peeps
cheers

I've used genuine speco thomas chrome rocker cover hold
downs (orig for holden 6s) to secure the fibreglass shroud
to the block! hmmmmm - they're worth at least 5hp!

Seriously though, you've gotta have some secrets guys!
The only thing I'd say is that the intent was never to have
a drag machine. Leo is meant to be a long legged cruiser
who'll take a load and will hold 120 kph up hill and down dale without getting
hot.
That said, I'll reckon he'd have enough to take pretty boy Birchalls'
smoothie at the drags - he'll no doubt up his main jet size
again but I'm saying that won't be enough! The honest
working truck from down south will do the job on the smoothie with safaris
open!
p.s. it is a sharpbuilt kit.... I can't answer the question
whether they're different for the alternator because I got quite a few bits (including the stand) with the engine.
Bought the pulley, rear and side pieces (fibreglass now rather than aluminium)
and it did all go together quite well with some fitting.
Will use Type IV cooler in doghouse with superbug fan
and external cooler. Will have to fab a bracket or something
to support the cooler.....
Need to buy some pieces for the webers air by-pass screws
(#64750.029) and nuts (#34705.0001), vacuum take-off covers (#61015.005), top cover fixing screws (#64700.005) and a coupla studs (#64955.108).
Actually having lotsa trouble finding these cos apparently the factories been on strike for six months? Any ideas?
