got my bus back. yay.
vwtyp2 - December 24th, 2004 at 09:21 PM

here's some pics of my bus.
finally got it back after getting the g'box built.
now has brand new Albins super diff, Albins 3rd, and Albins 0.70 4th.
put the new rims on tonight. they're ROH adrenalines, with 245/45 17's.
put some new adjustable Koni's on there too.
still would like to bring it down another inch or two at the front, and at least one more spline at the back.

vwtyp2 - December 24th, 2004 at 09:21 PM

here's one of the wheels.

vwtyp2 - December 24th, 2004 at 09:22 PM

and in the back, it's got one of these :bounce

vwtyp2 - December 24th, 2004 at 09:23 PM

I'd still like to lower it another 50mm al least.

vwtyp2 - December 24th, 2004 at 09:24 PM

cant wait to run it down the 1/4 mile on jan 8th.

vwtyp2 - December 24th, 2004 at 09:27 PM

there, that's a better ride height.

thats one nice and clean looking bay , how does the motor go for cooling i am guessing the radiator is underneath the bus somewhere, i have heard different stories about cooling issues in regards to radiator placement,
also if its under the bus and you go another 50mm lower will it be close to lets say a speed hump, just curious as i was going to fit a v6 in my bay i had a while ago but didnt want the radiator sitting on the front bumper
if i get another bay as a daily driver this is the power plant i will go for

vwtyp2 - December 26th, 2004 at 10:33 AM

it has a radiator from a hx holden v8.
that's the largest off the shelf rad. that will fit between the chassis rails.
there has been no overheating issues since the thermostat has been changed to run a little cooler, there's also two big thermo fans on the back of the rad sucking air through.
if you look just inside the front right wheel in the first pic, you can just see the duct that sits up front to direct air through the rad too.
The only clearance drama I can see straight away with lowering it some more, is the exhaust at the moment runs below the g'box.
this will have to be changed.

good luck with yours.:beer

if you sell it, what you going for next, it's gotta be a V6 splitty!!

vwtyp2 - December 29th, 2004 at 02:36 PM

was thinking about that, but got something else in mind.

nbturbo - December 29th, 2004 at 03:09 PM

vwtyp2 - December 29th, 2004 at 09:01 PM

don't tell anyone will you Gary?

Dasdubber - December 29th, 2004 at 09:12 PM

Looks very nice now...but you're right it will certainly look a treat once it squats down a little lower!

vwtyp2 - December 30th, 2004 at 08:20 AM

here it is with the old wheels.
which wheel do you guys think look better on the car?

nbturbo - December 30th, 2004 at 10:26 AM

Neither-put the original steels back on with some of those chrome look hubcaps that imitate a set of mags.If you were a good boy last year-there should have been some in your Xmas stocking.

ColumBUS - December 30th, 2004 at 01:24 PM

nah i like your big chromies better

vwtyp2 - December 30th, 2004 at 04:11 PM

trying to find some wide 13"s for it, but can't find any for 5x112 pcd. :)

nbturbo - December 30th, 2004 at 04:16 PM

The ROH's look the goods for me.Do you want the 13's to be mags or steel rims?
