Finally got the car engineer inspected and put it on the road yesterday. From my last thread it has had just a few changes. the engine is now a subaru
EJ20 quad cam.
The rear suspension is now type 3 IRS with a single sideplate gearbox thanks to Mark (MR930) and is using coil over shocks.
VolksConversions (Sherman) EJ20>VW adaptor and Sherman rear discs with falcon 5stud pattern studs.
V force front discs also in the same stud pattern.
New fuel tank and relocated filler.
It is now fully resprayed in Windamere blue metallic along with twin green and purple pearl over the top.
Radiator is mounted behind the rear seat with a cover incorporating a wrx style scoop to go on later.
Exhaust was made from many trips to the exhaust shop getting different angles mandrel bent in 2" stainless steel.
The 2 1/4" cat and muffler gave an exhaust note of 90dB @ 3,500 well under the limit. It has the nice wrx sound to it until you put your foot down,
then it sounds like a harley, not sure if you can fix this somehow.
The EJ20 Sump has been shortened somewhat for extra ground clearance. The air filter is a Redline (K&N copy) pod filter.
The battery has also been relocated behind the back seat and is an odyssey dry cell (1/2 the size and 1/2 the weight of the standard battery).
Anyway her are the pics.

looking good.
But still not high enough.
wow! thats very impressively personal. great job!
Took it onto stockton beach this afternoon thanks to the guidance of Marty (VDU.88A). Was Unreal. The tyres scraped a bit under the guards, but its
all good.

wow. has come along way from when i last saw. good effort!
was a pretty good afternoon i was surprised at how well it went and how much ground clearance it now has
well have to head up there again

I will come up next time.
not my cup of tea but a well done job! congragulations! looks nice! do a search on the odyssey battery in tech talk or the other one about how to get
the most out of it... i use to work for em and its important to charge above 14.5 volts (i think! memory is fading fast!) or your warranty is voided.
its in like page 8 or so of the booklet you get!! its really important as these batterys can reeeally die if not charged properly...
best of luck with it all! im sure it will turn heads!
Well done dude!
looks really good. bet you're happy you went with the suby now.
How r u getting airflow to the rad when it's behind the seat?
BTW, you might want skinnier, lower profile tyres on the front to prevent some understeer.

for got to say, love what you did with the blinkers in the front bumper
Yeah luckily the subaru alternator gives off a nice 14-14.5v at idle! I was warned from the shop that they might not give me warranty because i was
putitng it in a customised buggy rather than a standard car. But should be ok..
I got a big wrx style (but bigger) scoop that pushes air into the compartment behind the seat (along with a few other little gaps. Then it goes out
through a series of holes at the back... The scoop is just over 1/3 the core area of the radiator which, according to the automotive engineers
handbook is all you need for efficient radiator cooling. The thermo fans are on a fair bit at low-med speeds but they are still cutting in and out and
the temp gauge doesnt ever go above 2/5 so i think its ok. The front tyres are only 195 wide had to put them on to get them under the gaurds (the 225s
were too wide).
Yeah i stumbled across them when browsing the hella light catalog, they are actually called bullbar blinkers and are designed for going into the front
bumper.
