A new baby came home last night
sax - January 7th, 2005 at 05:31 AM

A bouncing baby 1300 weighing in at about 800 kg.

Made in 1967, and in really nice condition too.

Got her at the right price from a fellow forum bod.

pyr0 - January 7th, 2005 at 08:10 AM

awesome stuff very clean looking :)

sax - January 7th, 2005 at 08:20 AM

Scary really how clean it is under the wheel wells and everywhere.

Not a bad deal, insurance money from the rear end prang almost paid for this car and we get the other one back to part out or maybe fix?

A really bad situation just before chrissie has now left us with a much nicer car and possible engine options if the all new 1600 we built is still OK. Might have to find a really good 1500 box though to fit with it.

Mind you it seems sad to replace the 1300 that is in it, goes quite well.
If it aint broke, etc.

What a darling of a car. Good story too. Congrats. Is that colour Beryl Green?

Hey Sax I love yr new beetle - if that's the same one that was on here for sale (and I think advertised on one of the car sale sites) - Iwas eyeing it off heaps a while back - kept going back for looks coz I really loved it.

But we'd just bought our own 1300 (1970) and I had the same dilema at first - whether to put a 1500 into it (mainly because we already have a spare 1500 engine) - but after driving her around we realise the 1300 is all she needs....

Have fun with your new baby - keep us posted......

Thanks guys, I think the colour is Birch green.
The past owner was meticulous about keeping receipts for
work done and he kept the little paint plaque.

Dasdubber - January 7th, 2005 at 11:43 AM

That is really nice sax, beautiful clean stocker! Nice purchase.
