this is the bar i made up for hanngin the ladder from, you cant drive around with it on and i dont plan on climbing up it

thats what i was thinking. set yourself up at an event, and climb up and check out the views... have your period esky available and full of your finest liquid, and your sorted.

I think they normally go on the horizontal bar on the top of the rack.

Correct Dave. The ladders were made for placing and retrieving luggage from the roofrack of buses, as they were too tall for most.

Is it a real ladder, or did you make it? There is usually two types, and I can see that yours is the folding sort.. Nice work.
