My R32
Dave R32 - January 25th, 2005 at 09:52 PM

This my Reflex Silver R32 which is #190 of 200.

The car is currently stock except for a couple of very minor mods. In the future I hope to upgrade the suspension and reflash the ECU for a few extra KW's.

It is driven daily and has been to the race track couple of times......great fun

Man they are a wicked bit of gear!! Must be happy with it. i heard ya can get a bolt on twin turbo kit for them that power a sh!t load of KWs, i think for the US somewhere.

Lams - January 25th, 2005 at 11:26 PM

this car is ridiculously clean

you really have to see for yourself.. it redifines the word CLEAN

seagull - January 25th, 2005 at 11:57 PM

can you get a 4 door ?

Dave R32 - January 26th, 2005 at 12:29 AM

Thanks for the compliments guys.

The twin turbo kit puts out 550hp I think, it was developed in Germany for an American company.

In Australia they are 3 door only, in Europe and the UK 5 door R32's are available. Only 10,000 were built, Australia got 200, (actually 199 as one fell off a boat) USA got 5000 and rest were Europe, Japan and the UK.

Alex Holzl, I have seen your car in the VWA mag, quite a beast and probably quicker than the R32.

Lams, one day I am gonna get my hands on your car and it will be clean too:thumb

Cheers
Dave.

love the car mate always wanted one

Dasdubber - January 26th, 2005 at 09:07 PM

Great stuff Dave, love the look of the R32's. Very nice acquisition! You may have had a chat to them already but Guy and Paul et al at Harding European are well versed in all the water pumper mods and improvements (Audi, VW etc). They were my main source of parts/info before they shifted focus to water cooled cars.

Once again, great car!

sikdub - January 26th, 2005 at 10:19 PM

Gotta love an R32!
Steve

Alex Holzl - January 26th, 2005 at 10:25 PM

Che Castro - January 27th, 2005 at 08:47 AM

mm love the R32 very nice

gldgti - January 27th, 2005 at 01:23 PM

Damn, I'm jealous... Nice ride. Whack some eyelids on that beast and you can frighten people BEFORE ya show em the tailpipe...

got stuck in traffic in western sydney last year next to a Jazz blue R32 while in my little green golf. never been more pleased to have a traffic jam, just so i could hear it running and view it from several angles....

Doug Sweetman - January 27th, 2005 at 01:39 PM

These R32's are sweet as. I saw a blue one in Fremantle last year with a nice shiny stainless steel (aftermarket I assume) exhaust - he gave it a blat up the street, and without lying, the exhaust note was right up there with 355 Ferrari's in the 'Spine Tingling' stakes.

Very nice.

My yuppy little brother is still waiting (March delivery apparently) for his latest model TDI golf - I wonder if he'll let me have a drive......

ColumBUS - January 27th, 2005 at 08:56 PM

That Blue R32 belongs to a mate of mine, Al Walker he has done some nice mods and is the reason why I purchased mine. I had a 2001 Passat 1.8T with suspension, ecu upgrades, new wheels etc and Al dragged to a dealer to look at the silver R32...........the rest is history.

As for the trade.......can I think about it?

The twin 2.5" exhaust and that lovely note is standard, I have been known to walk to the garage, start the car, give it a rev, turn if off and go back to the TV with a huge smile !!!!!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Cheers
Dave

BLUE_62 - January 28th, 2005 at 02:53 AM

Hey,

i know exactly what you are talking about when people praise the R32. I was lucky enough to go over one from top to bottom inside and out @ the bendigo VW dealership. THe vehicle was only about for a few days and has not been seen since. It was a demo model with a mere 2000km's on the clock. God damn they are a lovely car. The fit and finish is definatly up there with the finest (BMW and the 3 pointed star) - and no i dont mean Mitsubishi!

nice work, look after it :thumb

rice_girl - January 28th, 2005 at 08:05 PM

That's a mighty gorgeous car! It must feel good driving that baby around!

Damn I guess I forgot to put a "&" so my post read:

suspension & ecu upgrades.

In fact the Beetle suspension is probably better than the Passat was in standard form as it was crap !!!
