Sik's Square
sikdub - September 5th, 2002 at 04:57 PM

This is my 1964 Squareback. It's relatively stock except for being lowered, 12v conversion and the Empi 5 spoke wheels. I have recently added a Scat shifter and an antenna ball too. This is my first car and i got it 2 months after my 16th birthday. Since i got it, i have played with it and had most everything to bits. It is a VW1500 but it now has a 1600sp in it and the single carby. In this pic the car hadn't been washed for 3 months. This car is one rough lil unit. Whattya Reckon?

I like it Sik,

It sits nice, and I love a stock looking car lowered with nice wheels and a decent engine...

What are your plans for the future with it??

Clint:)

I like Anything Type3!
But man I just love it!

Hey Clint,
I don't really have any plans. Ill take it as it comes. About all i wanna do right now is get some centre caps, replace the cluthch and rear main seal cos the clutch is shagged and the car leaks oil like a seive. I also have to replace the right rear wheel bearing. Other than that we're laughin'.

How many posts does one need to hold the title "Slammed and Awesome? I think you should have that title permanently, Steve. :thumb:cool::D

Empi, will see it in the flesh when i get it back together and have time to take it somewhere. Jeza, What more could i want? Is a bit of reliability too much to ask?
Steven

Yeah fair enough...

I know the feeling well, one day I promise myself I 'll be able to hop in start it up and drive off, no matter how far... (ie down the road or up country) without that dreaded "how far will I get this time/ what will need attention along the way" feeling.

Then again I might get board of the trips then too :D

Hey sik.
Will we see it at valla?

BenettonVW - May 22nd, 2003 at 06:56 PM

Yep, nice rig. The next thing to do is to try to get this guy, who lives in the same town as me, to come to even HALF the events I go to and we'll be rockin!! :D

Nice Square Steve, you know I love it. ;)

Golde60 - May 22nd, 2003 at 07:59 PM

i remember those wheels - they were a trading post bargain about 1 year ago weren't they!

man you got in pretty quick for those, and cut someones grass in the process
(not mine)

but i wish i had of snapped them up:)

BenettonVW - May 22nd, 2003 at 08:19 PM

One thing I have learnt whilst on here.. Sales usually go by favoritism or via 'the quick or the dead' routine..

I have lost the chance to own a set of rims like the ones above via the same ways mentioned..

Anyway, uhh.... Nice car mate! :P

kustomkool - May 22nd, 2003 at 10:38 PM

Im in the process of getting a set of 5 spokes from the states save a fortune compared to flat 4 BRMs from QLD also throw in some other cheap goodies. As for luck ..It always comes down to your buying power.

sikdub - May 23rd, 2003 at 09:33 AM

Yep, the wheels were from the trading post. Didn't know that i cut someones lunch but all the surfie lookin guy told me was that someone had looked at them and decided not to get em. I still need centre caps but it looks like i have found some so should be sweet. Jim, the last time i tried to take the square to an event it died 2km into the trip, im pretty sure your car didnt make it either??? But yeah, im pretty slack mate. I just wanna get it back in one piece.
Steven :)
