Last year i bought a camper to go on surfing trips and that in, after doing heaps of work, seeing alot of nicer looking buses around and coming to realise it will be my daily driver for a few more years hopefully i am thinking of getting a microbus. We have done heaps of work to the engine and tranmission and also customed the dash with gauges, new head unit etc. I am contemplating buying a microbus which is not so good mechanically and putting the tranny/engine and dash from my bus into it and putting the dash engine and tranny into my bus and then selling it.
I would imagine i would be able to do this without loosing any money and hopefully make a small profit. In the longrun i want to respray and all that but keep the bus stock.
Has anyone bought another bus and got the best of both and sold the left overs? Recon it would be worth it in the longrun or is it all just all about personal choice?

Im currently driving a camper and also currently doing up a 76 microbus. I intend to use the engine from my camper as well. But i wouldnt expect to make money selling ur camper if u can break even then ur sweet and making some dosh is just a bonus!

I have been watching the trading post, ebay and all that. Kombis are ALOT more expensive in spring/summer and alot cheaper in end of summer/ autumn. I gues its coz lots of people buy buses in summer, go away on a trip and sell it at the end of summer. So now is the time to buy (unfortunantly i didnt know this when i bought my camper). Really keen for a mircobus but need to try and get a few $$$ to buy one and wait till sumer to sell my bus. If anyone is intrested in a swap u2u me !!!
