Heres my 1302. It's fairly scruffy, with lots of filler and plenty of paint hiding previous (ie not me ) indiscretions.
I'm aiming for the one colour, no chrome race car look, and slowly getting there.... especially when I look at the photo's of when I first
got it!!!!
I've been tossing up between Tele dials and Design 90's, and I think the Tele's have one out. But for now these wheels are doing the
job fine.
Does anyone know what wheels these are?
Currently a standard 1600 TP. Hoping to aim for a 1776 or stoker, say 1900 ish... Which will do me nicely. It's never gonna beat a hi po water
pumper but I hope to give some of the ricers a suprise

Nice straigh looking 1302 ya got there!
Intersting wheels - but not GL look though.
Your choices are right - go with tele's or the Design 90's (you know i like the 90's! :bounce )
Dont think you would have any problem off loading those wheels to a Cal look fanatic.
Definitely need to dump the front!

Thanks Blue
The wheels were really cheap... and gave me a better tyre selection than the stock 165/15's, which improved the handling hugely But long term it would be nice to fit some Porsche ones.
What option of Drop (ie 2 or 4 inches) did you opt for with your V-Force struts. And how much adjustment can you get from yours? ie if I went for
the 2 inch drop, could it go down another inch, or 4 inches up one inch?
It's got lowered springs in the front which I think dropped it about 1.5 to 2 inches, but I'd like another inch. Although at the mo thats
not possible cause these wheels finish flush with the edge of the guard.
Cheers

I like the idea of a german ratlook, not everything is shiny ya know, keep it up Jeza.
Yeah good idea, send us more pics as it changes.Nice.
As you know I'm fond of the Baja's but that dosen't mean I can't appreciate a good stock job. I like the wheen that are on it but
have to agree that the front need to come down.
Post up new pics when the changes roll on.
Thanks guys
The Bronze- I would have to say that my first enthusiasum for VW's was with Baja's. I'm still keen to get one/ build one, but one
project at a time is enough to keep me busy ...and poor
Right now I'm dealing with rust
then I can put my interior, well seats and rubber floor mats, back in- Currently it's like driving a speaker box... LOUD!!!
Cheers
Jeremy
BARRY N GLEN i am surprised you have seen those wheels before
Jeza
these are Lightning Wheels Mk 2s made in the UK by the Mill Accessory Group in the late 60s and early 70s.
In Aussie they were sold by VW as accessory wheel to fit a Type 3 or Type 4s
I have seen them here on most Type 4s and the ones i have came of a Type 3.
Jeza
Do you want a set of lowering front struts ???
Dave
Thanks for the info on the wheels.
Mmmmm, I was going to aim for a set of small diametre coil struts like the V-Force ones... but this is very tempting- I'll send you an e-mail
Jeremy
i can get teledials for nutin guys givin them away here!!!!
cheers
rhys
p.s. ive told dad to grab me!
Quote "i can get teledials for nutin guys givin them away here!!!!"
(errr... how do I do this properly?)
Really, is that an offer? Freight between Aus and NZ would kill any
"good" price anyway. I've got my eye on a cheap set here as well.
Heres a pic of the back of the RAt GL currently. One day I'll get some smoked lenses for those tail lights
And I've just scored a second set of racy seats- much better looking than my Prelude ones.
Cheers
Jeremy
