After many months of inaction, I am determined to get my 69er back on the road for Day of the VW on the 27th.

Last night I did a mockup of the engine that I am putting in sometime in the next few days, just need some intake boots and gaskets and then should be ready to go in

Hopefully soon I will move out of home and get a place with a garage, then I can respray me bug in dove blue.

yeah its in now, dont know whether it goes though
gotta redo the wiring for the alternator and set the timing.
i think i might have to realign the distributor drive shaft coz its a crankcase originally from a type 3

anyone help ya install it? I gotta redo my headlight and blinker wiring.. when the headlights are on, they're still pretty dim for 12V (voltage drop somewhere i presume) and at idle, the blnkers don't blink with the headlights on (not enough current/voltage to the flasher can?)

I put the engine in on my own, it was a Monday that I had off work, I assumed everyone else would be at work still.

Thanks Laura The paint looks good from a distance but it is pretty chipped at the front and has a few little bits of rust that I want to get rid of.
