I started this project in late August and the goal was to have it finished by the DOVW at the end of November.
Ive had the body for a few years now but had never got around to doing anything with it, So with no project in the shed I thought now would be a
perfect time to start on it.
Heres the body when i started...
I pulled the pan out from under a burnt out '67 beetle, then took it back to bare metal, primed, seam sealed, stone guarded and top coated
it.......

Most removable parts were sandblasted and painted in 2pak satin black, and everything was put back together with stainless fasteners where possible. The front beam is adjustable and the rear has been lowered a few splines, the wheels and hubcaps were powder coated and wear 145/65's at the front and 165's at the back.
This is just after we put the body on.......
After putting in a twin port 1600, an interior and a few other finishing touches, it made it to the DOVW and got the response I was hoping for....
It's definitely different! :thumb
Now thats the sh%t, great job. I like your style.
was excelent to see one in the flesh:beer
Quick buff and it would be showroom
Wicked brother. Was worth the wait.. Well done. :thumb

LOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEEEE it
hehe, sure did get a response at the show. great to see something a bit different
Very tough Rhettro!
pesronally it doesn't appeal to my taste, however each to their own.
j/k you're da man rhett
Rhettro you could have made a fortune charging for rides around the race course on the DOVW. Great job mate
Would have been a laugh seeing that doing doughies on the grass.
One word-Excellent-I don't think I have seen that done to one B4-trend setter.I remember seeing a Kubel that had been dropped in the weeds by a Yank and thought that was good, but yours wins.Another thing that could be done to one, lift it sky high with tall tyres,so you would need a ladder to get on board-but wouldn't have the cool factor like yours though.
That looks very good......!!!!!:thumb:thumb:thumb
I can just imagine cruising the Freo Cafe` strip on a Sunday afternoon in That thing...!!!!!

Yep, as much as I hate it, I love it... if u know what I mean!
I might built a second pan for mine - with a Steroids in the rear - and have a qik-release body!
that is fat.
Sorry, I mean PHAT.
Imagine dumping a Scwimmer that low??? Take a bit of work, but would be different. I am joking
