Scored this today.....and will pick up during the week.
Is missing the original W decklid but I have one to put on.
Will need to find an original bonnet.
Comes with original tail lights, a set of 356 wheels, the original front seats and is in pretty good nick other than the paint work...hail the rat!
Still has original 36hp engine and is still 6 volt too.

he reub, is that at your place or where you scored it from, it looks like a spitting image of one of my school mates places, same looking fence/gate and the whole street! :smilegrin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

damn, was worth a shot, thanks anyway tho, top find aswell
have you got a shot of the centre panel. what are those gauges in there. home made or after market? nice unit should scrub up all right. will it be ready for dubs?
Perfect to baja.
Only joking, that's not cool.
Mate, what a great score.. Hope you get to keep the plate on it.. Looking forward to seeing the developments.. :thumb
Looks good Reub,
keep us posted.
T54
Score !!!! especially in a place as wet as Darwin
Great score Rueb,
now you can get rid of the Barina!!!!
See, they are out there, just gotta wait. Must have spent most of its' life inland to be that rust free.
Cheers, Ian.
It looks great mate ! It looks pretty solid, just like the one i just bought, mine came from melbourne but, I will post some pics.a soon as work out how to ?, cheers John.
So.....I'd really piss you all off by saying I scored it without outlaying a dollar....
It's actually part payment to help with designing and documenting a house for the guy. He also owns a sweet 356 Porsche...
As for the guages I'll take a photo of them. Even the guy I'm getting it off doesn't know where they are from and thought they may have been an
option on the Australia spec beetles. Who knows....
Plans for the car....keep it stock as a rock....GOTTA HAVE THE STOCKER TO GO WITH THE ROCKER....
Want to drop it on it's guts and add white walls. May get dropped spindles for the front as I don't even want to cut up the original beam...
and it looks like a dodgy guage cluster maybe???
yep dodgy. but a period accessory. would look alright with 3 period vdo gauges there. good luck with the stocker.
Looks great man, and love the fact that your ganna keep it stock, but will you leave it like it is and just get her road worthy, like rat style? would be great to see her get there!
welcome to avd's odd couple! whats the sticker on the rear bumper say anyway?
What the stock? We'll see, you won't be able to do it Reub.lol
You know you want to do it? Also I think your version of stock might be a little different to most of the guys on here.
Should be another sweet arse ride.
crazy side-by-side comparison pics - love it!
The rocker looks hella mean - I dig it hard.
So.. a slammed rat and a slammed rocker?
Yeah....she has to be lowered a min of about 4" I'd say but don't want to do a whole lot to it to be honest. Spent too much on the other car to do a full resto.....
yeh, keep it spartan and roadworthy (just!) and dump it on its guts... then ya done.. just enjoy!
That's it dude....then I can go cruising with Peter and he'll be able to drag me off.....against the stocker that is....lol
Will have to look at what I need for it....atleast the brakes have just been done.
yeh, brakes are important mmm--kay? When I bought my oval, i drove it 1 hour+ back to home with 4 leaking wheel cylinders, oil on all 8 shoes which
translated to sweet FA braking efficiency.. made it back alive though!
Man, even the blue/white 'two tone' is cool on this bug!
hmmmm.....problem with the internet.... http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=1140
mmmmmmm! I wish...

Some people are just greedy
Very nice Reub. If I know you right, it'll get a resto eventually.
I feel an NT VW Freak workathon comming up.
Yeah DUDE :thumb
Just gotta work on you missus! :P
