aussie day = buggy day
helterskelter400 - January 26th, 2006 at 11:38 PM

well, having now got my licence back from a points suspension and with fine weather, aussie day was going to be good.

helped a friend do some work on his bus in the AM then saddled up for a cruise up the beach and beach tracks for a bit of a looksee and swim..

everyone else had the same idea and the beach was covered with conflicting deeep ruts, and a couple of temporarily immobile 4wds.

given this scene from the lookout, tyres were dropped to 3pound, the oil topped up and 2nd gear picked and kept revvving all the way to the safety of the hard sand at the inlet. swapping ruts, high waves, bouncing off line... no stopping for anything. haha.

few more tracks in the late arvo then a feed and a couple of beers, read the paper, listen to JJJ at traditional campsite then a cold and dark drive along the same tracks to be home at dead on 9pm.

great day. :thumb

That's a good way to spend the day. Looks like a nice beach too.

I agree, Aussie day is buggy day. I went for a picnic with a bunch of friends down to Stanwell Pk beach. No beach action in the buggy but heaps of fun anway. Sadly, me and the missus got well sunburnt. If it only happens once a year it's a good year! :(
