What do ya reckon????
i was gonna say you need to get it closer to the pavement but your one of those little buggers who likes to play in the sand:P:thumb
Yep. She gets driven once a month for a trip around the shed and is put back in the shed. Simple life for a small little car!
Well an Update:
my 63 started getting a little tatty so i decided late last year to redo her.
Pics tell a million words lol
I hit a Roo one night on a gravel road (bastard bounded off) so that was first for me to fix. we used the oxy set and i a jack to bend out the front
tyre area. The guard was bent so an oxy was used to get rid of some bodgy previous repair and it was tapped out. Rear end was damaged so it was tapped
and filled in an inacesiable dent.
pillars were done in another thread i think so ill try and dig that up, if not ill post them here. I bought this car in Easter 2003 when i bought it
off a good mate Greg, saved from a parts database "The General" has been an ongoing project destined for my road car as my lience chance comes
around soon! Look out tasmania!!!!!!
This latest work was done between June 2007 and January 2008 as it got a bit sidetracked with Valerie (67 Split) and the bushfire in which i lost all
my future projects and parts which were stacked up inside of the 73 Ampol Panel. the fire almost claimed the Baja, Manx and The General and the
Split.
While the body work was being tinkered with, a reconditioned front suspension was placed under (Cheers Ray!), reconditioned steering box and two new
front shock absorbers (15th Birthday present) Dashboard was resprayed and the floorpan POR-15.
Rooflining still needs to be sourced as with two new running boards and for rego the back lowered to og height. Does any one know ride height
legalities for beetles and would it be safe to drive on highways raised up a notch? DOnt think so due to the camber but i would like to hear member's
thoughts.
Almost finished.......
And when money allows, a set of Flat4 Brms
Update:
As i have been tinkering with the baja for a few months, the old 63 was getting a lack of attention sitting in the shed, so i got her out into the
paddocks!
Cleaned her all up afterwards, will be getting her on the road soon, needs a bit of suspension work doing to her, and the back has to come down to
standed height.
And yes the whale tail will be gone to make way for the popes nose
Bought myself a present the other day,
Found this the other day, taken backin 2003 when i first bought her off Volma1.
Back in 03 again:
Afther the bushfire, so close to losing her, four metres in fact. Here she is meeting her mates.
Wheels and replacment panels arrived last night, Thanks eddy!
December 1 is the set date for completion, as thats when i finally get my licence!
Little teaser:
Arse still needs to come down, needs to come back to stock height.
Upholstery's fitted, only took half an hour!
