A fine effort indeed!

baybuscamperkid - April 17th, 2006 at 04:04 PM

mmmm. i smell turbo. under chassis rad i presume?

kombibob - April 17th, 2006 at 09:22 PM

yep under chass rad, no turbo though but still goes hard.
bled the system today she now runs cool between 80 and 90 deg c:thumb
the oil temp gauge was reading 120 deg c but i'm sure that its faulty as the oil on the dip stick is not hot to touch and i can touch the sump next to the sender without burning myself.
so i cut the wire to stop myself worrying about it.

phatratpat - April 17th, 2006 at 09:43 PM

:crazy:yep thatil work !!

yo k/bob, what size engine have you slotted in and how did drivetrain cope with extra netties? thanks rob.

kombibob - April 18th, 2006 at 09:10 PM

hey rob
my bus is running with the ej20 2lt quad cam
the tranny is a stock 2ltbox and they can handle the extra power with no worries.

baggedbug68 - April 18th, 2006 at 09:15 PM

your bus looks really good nice to see it on the road as well.

Hey, I never got to ask, but what are the sliding windows you have? (the middle sliders) They look very neat.

Andy - April 27th, 2006 at 09:20 AM

Great!
So Brazilian sliders are not the same as '70's German ones! I have seen the old ones were re-made for a while, but maybe not anymore.
Pity they're not like South African ones which can open front or rear.

thanks man
just the ej20 quad cam non turbo
it is just like driving a new car so smooth:P
i still love my vw motors and would never think about doing this to the split but for a daily driver with todays fuel costs etc this is a good way of keeping the dream alive and have power to spare:thumb
and would prob take less then a day to go back to stock if need be.
