Well i finally have pictures!!!
This is my project a 1961 bug
Pretty poor condition at the moment, but i have plans :P
Im planning on a nice 1600tp to replace the 1200
Going to try and keep the body and interior as orginal as
possible, but you know how sometimes you have to be
different.. :P (thats my reasoning anyway hehe)
Anyways here are the pics
P.S. also plan to lower it a bit as well, also i don't like the
camber this car has got, is it wise to adjust it?

poor bug has had a few paint jobs lol
do u know what that plate mounted to the carby just above the fuel pump is for?
i never understood why ppl fitted alternators like that other than laziness it makes it so hard to add oil
Joel
yea that plate stumps me too, i have asked heaps of people here in bundy and no one has a clue. should post it on here
yeah my ex used to live in bundy and took me to meet a few of the vw mechanics up there this was back in 2000 though
one was an old german bloke called Karl i think and the other was a tall guy called Steve he had a vw shop as well i think it was called Bugme on
avoca st
Joel
Yer thats right,
Karl is now working from home, and i know steve, hes still around avoca.
Hes got a commodore V6 in his Kombi!
love the big ol alternater attached to the top of the genny!
not sure about how well the belt contacts the fan pulley like that though.

just go two outer splines down it will look sweet and wheels stay almost straight
Alrite, Time for an UPDATE!!!!
Decided to stop being lazy and get to work lol.
Ok i have removed the front beam, taken the engine out (spent nearly an hour and a half looking for top mounting bolts to discover it didnt have any),
removed front bumper, indicators, guards, side runners and all the trim.
Pics:
And if anyone is wondering why "Cornetto" is written in dust on the back window..watch the movie "Shawn of the Dead" hehe
Cheers
i didnt realise it at the time but thats probably an engine out of splitty panel van
the mystery pllate on the carb is the rev limiter governer thingy that were fitted to most fleet splittys to stop employees reving the tits off
them
wouldnt be the first motor ive come across only held in with a few of the bolts
