I agree with weapon on that, looks so cool as is.
Isn't she lovely. Did you put the flash on or did she come with it? Not often you see one not coloured in. Very nice.
She would have loved a run in the country indeed.
the flash was on when we bought her. thanks for the kind comments!

Nice! The one of the ignition is my background now!
-Staggers.
Mate, who wants perfect anyway?! In my opinion, its a perfectly original bug!
Keep it up!
Matt
very nice 61 bug mate , something about a car that hasnt been dolled up just to impress the pureists . enjoy her as she is , she has aged very gracefully .
Matt,
fourth pic down, the fuel line between the pump and carby looks moist and might be slipping off!check it out for me will ya.
Dumone,
Thanks, fuel line is well clamped, It gets the "wet look" from oil that inevitably drips from the air cleaner pre - heat fitting. I've never seen
a beetle that had the correct hose comming off that fitting. I'm always careful about correct amount of oil in filter but it always makes a mess.
I'm going to solve it by chasing up a 36 Hp air cleaner.
Matt.
Beautiful bug!
Looks wonderful the way she is. A truly gorgeous original beauty!
Well done!

Thanks Brendan,
I bid on it but missed out. I've located one elswhere since, so I should be saying goodbye to the "wet look" soon.
Oh, and when I said "not perfect yet" I meant mechanical reliability, I'm slowly ironing out little problems and bodgy repairs done over the years,
things like the frequent use of a bent nail where a roll pin should be.
Only doing short local trips in her at the moment as there is a lot of slop in the input shaft bearing of gearbox and lots of oil leaking from side
plates & nose cone. I have another box to throw in & will do rear wheel bearings while I'm at it. Then I should be ok for Valla.
Speaking of Valla If your'e going, let me know when and we might be able to cruise up there together.
Matt.
Ps.
Pics were taken at my friends place just west of Kendal. He's not a Dubber yet, but I'm working on him, he'll be bringing his ford courier ute to
Valla with me
( have to get all my swapmeet stuff home somehow. Lol )
