Being that I will need some transport soon, I have aquired this 1500 Beetle.
It has had a very hard life but is loaded with goodies, so I used the excuse of needing wheels for my drag car , to buy it.
It has some nasty things that need to be rectified though.
First things to go will be those widened 'glass guards and add some bumpers.
Engine is a 1915 with 45 dellortos, and tranny is a freshly rebuilt Leon's Motors swingaxle.
It has an adjustable front beam with SAW leaves and sway bar,
and SAW adjustable spring plates and camber compensator in the rear.
Also KYB gas shocks and type three brakes.

Interior is totally trashed but has full VDO guages and empi shifter.
Now that's a good score. Can't see what wheels are on it.
The fronts are CSA globes and the rears are Performance brand Globes...both 15 x 7.
I will have the CSA's narrowed to 4".

what ya guna build in the back dude?
Nice score Dave, but I think it needs more guages....
These have got to go!!!
is a autorotor going to find it,s way in there
Hey Dave,
Pretty cool car,has alot of possibilities.1915 w/45 dells is a good combo, will be fun to drive on street, good find.
Nice one Dave - I'm sure it will make a nice streeter!
wanna sell the indicators??
empi
I already smashed them with a rock...they were making me sick!
I noticed the file name...vomit indicators..nice
I didn't crush those lights, but will give them away.
Problem is, two different people have asked for them,
one in the forum and one in U2U...whats the etiquete here?
For now the engine and tranny will remain as is, but have plans to upgrade the tranny
and sell this one so that my Pauter engine can be slotted in for a back-up car in case I need a rego'd car at the drags...hmmmm!!

great to see another fast vdub hitting the streets soon
yes yes... we all like the rat look.
mostly.
let me know .. they are pretty cheap from the Harley shop.... but not aged like a fine wine .... cor shoot me now!
Great to see a little car being rescued again. Just a thought, the last drag racer on this forum who bought a beetle to go round corners in, not
mention any names (Rod Penrose), wrote the poor thing off during it's first test drive. So take it easy Dave, we like you and the car, the shape you
are.

No I won't be fitting a spool, and driving fast on the street.
Thanks for the offer Alan will keep you posted.
Looks like you own these indicators Empi...
I have a rat problem at my house and dont want any more
This is transport and I will limit street driving with the low power type engine
that it has now...driving fast on the street is for fools, if I have power I will be a fool!

a wise man knows his own flaws.
MAN THAT TIKS ME OFF. that is the first time i have seen that car since i sold it 6 or 7 years ago. I could cry. they've killed it. I am VERY happy to see it go to a good home dave.
Not Wayne Penrose, the other one - Rod. I'm sure he'll thank me for reminding everyone.
^ oooh, sorry, edited now.
:duh
I think we all know Wayne knows how to drive round corners.
Hey Dave, got some good suggestions for cam, heads and gearbox....
Hey Alan, do you want to lend me some parts?
Got some stock guard from Chris, and began fitting them up.
Here you can see the difference in the width.
