The white 76 is my girlfreinds and the 77 is my dad's and mine...... well I drive a hilux at the moment:cry
Either of them a delux? if so, do they have a trip meter speedo?
My camper (converted panel) has a clock, but no tripmeter, I bought the Kombi off the original owner and thought the clock was a standard thing,
didn't know they were an option, or standard on delux's
Rob......
a girlfriend with kombi!?! what more can you ask for!
My girlfreinds 76 micro is standard but my dads 77 is a deluxe.I have previously owned a two tone red and white 77 and I'm quite sure all
77's in two tone are deluxes with chrome bumpers, opening quarter glasses, clock, trip meter,no metal seat surounds, jail bar luggage guards in rear
compartment and other extras.
The colours I have seen are red/white,green/white,turquoise/white,orange/white.
It seems after 1977 the microbusses didn't come with all the chrome bits.
I think the trip meter was an option. I've got one on my '77 deluxe.
Other info on 77 micros (courtesy Andy):
A few point's that set the '77 microbus deluxe (what a mouth full) appart from the rest. (some of these appear as options on other models)
8 seater with walk through, SS striping down the side, chrome bumpers with rubber strip, opening front door 1/4 windows, chrome rear 1/4 windows,
black mirrors, no bulk head behind the rear seats, trip meter speedo, clock, padded steering wheel, two tone paint, chrome striping on interior
panels, rear jail bars, Sekurit glass.
VW had glass made by many companies. Glass was also one of the first things (amongst others) made locally in countries that assembled VW's.
Most Australian assembled VW's had 'Duroglass' , 'Pilkington' or 'Armourfloat' supplied glass.
Sekurit was the German supplier. That and other things made Andy a fully imported bus (well as best I can find out anyway).
Another old post rears it's head! must have a phantom poster!
Rob.....
Lots of good memories in my '77 deluxe
