Gwen's body repairs *UPDATE 16/8/06* Nearly done!
jo_tas - July 29th, 2006 at 08:36 PM

Well, Gwen's in the shop!
Spent the morning pulling her apart (actually i did what you can see in about 2 hours)

We found some really nasty rust... but it should all be repairable.. just ALOT of cutting and welding!!

Also some really nasty repairs... like the wire mesh behind and fiberglassed over the top.. with some expanda-foam to top it off!! :repuke

But yeah, i'm just glad we found it, and now its gonna be fixed PROPERLY!!

That shit really is disgusting! :duh:

Some people...ok...MOST people should not be allowed to have fiberglass and expanding phome! :td:

Good to see the work underway Jo.:thumb
Get out the stainless steel grinder cutting blades mate and go to town on that rust, those blades are much finer and cut body work like the old hot knife in butter.

jo_tas - July 29th, 2006 at 08:49 PM

Oh i'm not doing the actual repairs! I'm leaving that to Craig (the panel beater - great guy!)

toecutter - July 29th, 2006 at 09:04 PM

Are you going to keep it the same colour?

jo_tas - July 29th, 2006 at 09:09 PM

Yep!

koolkarmakombi - July 30th, 2006 at 12:40 PM

tough luck Jo!

Its a bugger to find someone has done that to a nice car...

Gwendoline will love you lots for the fix!

LUFTMEISTER - July 30th, 2006 at 07:30 PM

looks like you are going to need a cut panel to repair that lot. rear parcel shelf to boot lid should cover that. would have helped you out, but body was dumped 2 months ago plus the distance!. good luck with it.:thumb

jo_tas - July 30th, 2006 at 08:52 PM

Hehe yeah, thanks for the thought though DUBB61

Panel beater reckons he'll be able to fix it without too much trouble.. he's a pretty talented guy!

baybuscamperkid - July 31st, 2006 at 10:00 AM

handycam - July 31st, 2006 at 10:12 AM
