As part of the ragtop sale, I've received a new daily driver!
I am very stoked with the new ride and already it has my mind ticking over as to how it will end up. For now though it will see daily (or at least a
few times a week) service to and from work...and weekends of course! Down the track I'll get stuck into the resto.
Anyone guess what it is?
More clues if you can't guess from the pic.

notch?
Possibly...
...well actually yes - crap - I guess I should have made the pictures more difficult!
Alan I never thought you'd be a Notch person!
-Staggers.
Well there ya go Staggers - glad I could surprise you!
I'm loving it thus far!
Well since you guessed the model so quickly, any ideas on year of manufacture from these pics?
Early? Haha, just post pics...so is the splitty getting started on then?
More pics soon.
Bruce, the splitty will probably start after I sell the other beetle project and construct a carport - I hate having to be at the mercy of the weather
which dictates when I can work on the resto (ie. rain). Trust me, I want to start the panel - I just have to figure out which direction it will take!
Nice notch
Andy from Tassie should recognise it
check out http://vw1500s.skynetblogs.be/
VW1500S
channel it 60mm ,french the head lights a few rod mods and a nice porsche boxer 2.7,3.2:thumb
looks like pre 66 - pearl white?
Andy's old Notch Al?? I know it was bought by someone in Qld a while ago....you got it now? Or did you bid on that pearler on Ebay?
To the best of my knowledge it is a 64 notch - I didn't buy it directly from Andy, I got it as part trade for the ragtop :thumb
I am not sure of its original colour though since it has had an external respray but under the bonnet is blue....however it could just be a bonnet off
another notch - haven't had a really good look at it yet!
Photos ?
yeah let's go Das. More photos!
Well dne Al - notches are fun
suspense.......Dont pretend like you cant operate a camera or you dont like taking photos, as we all know better.
Hey C'mon - was away for work for a couple of days and didn't have access to my puter/pics! :P
I love the stance - so glad it was already slammed as it saves me a bit of work! My wife has had it for the last couple of days and I don't think
she'll give it up too easy so I spose it's about time I do a resto for her! (but as mentioned above, it will have to wait a little while).
More pics soon when the rain stops - maybe on the weekend!
Welcome to the Darkside.... you will never return....
Gratz dude...
Tazz
Glad you had a safe trip home mate,I'm sorry to say it but I think you might be relegated to the Outlander,I just can't see Katie giving up the
notch. The rag had a polish and wax today, ordered the new exhaust and a few other performance goodies, see how it goes when we open up those valves and
get her breathing. She's gone to a good home and will be pampered.I hope you are happy with the notch, will send the other thing down hopefully next
week!!!Thankyou for an easy,no drama changeover.
Cheers
Damon
Wow, that is real nice!!
Looks like mine, only white. love the early notch. Nice one Das.
Nice dasdubber...and damo must be enjoying the rag.
Dasdubber, i have some paper work for the other thing...will arrange to get it to you
Cheers thanks guys....and thanks Damo! At least now that Katie has been bitten by the bug (to use an old pun), it will be a little easier for me to
justify future resto's! Good to hear you'll tickle up the 1916 a little - I'm sure it will be good fun for you, it certainly was for me.
Cheers bruce for the paperwork, others will have to wait a little before I reveal the "other thing".
Yeah that's Andy's old notch from Tassie. Great score Al. My bro looked at it for me when he was down that way. Great stance and a great ride, and that interior is immaculate!
A notch hey Das, now your talkin, i still reckon mine is like drivin a lounge chair on wheels. Good to see Katie like's it too, Take it easy, cheers Damo. So many Damo's on this forum man.
Beautiful notch, gorgeous all round package....niiiiice
Muuhahahahaha.. Welcome to the club!!
Nah, nice one mate, I have had a bit of a look at that car when she was next to Nellie, and it's very nice. You've done well.
Niiiiiccce,
Drove past this arvo' while your garage door was up, I think you may have converted Trace as well.:thumb, though she has a preferance for the wagons,
either way, win/ win for me.
cam.
Good stuff Cam - drop in some time for a beer and Trace is welcome to have a drive any time (just to plant the seed a little deeper!). I know Katie
loves it!
The interior is certainly mint - once I give it a new lick of paint on the outside it will be seriously swish! Who knows, my type IV might find its
way into the rear end of this someday as I think (by my wife's reaction), it will be a keeper!
