some of you may have noticed that ive been on here a little less lately, that because ive been building a 65 beetle. some of you may even rember it as
i brought it off here.
this is how she was whaenm i brought her.
i drove her for a while like this then i decided to pretty her up a little so i started on the panel work.
here it is with polyester filler on the worst parts.
then after the polly was rubbed and some other small repairs were done it was time for high fill primer.
while i was doing this i was also building a new front beam with adjusters in it and narrowed 2 inches.
standard
cutting it
the adjusters
and done, ive skipped a few pics like relocating the mounting brackets and shaving the shock tower inner.
once id finished rubbing her down it was time for paint, the color is the original panama beige.
just rolled her out of the booth and into the sun.
and just one of her out the front of my place.
my original plan was always to 2 tone her, so for the side color i chose a chocolate brown i mixed up my self.
freshly unmasked in the booth (the temp was still about 40 degrees in these pics)
and out the front with a few things bolted up again.
then it was on to lowerering her, just here id like to throw a shout out to adam_C for helping me with the back end. im running 135's on the front
and 165's on the rear.
first i got some new rubber for the front.
then this was the front at stock height with the new rubber
then i slammed the front
then the rear got the same treatment (ive got 2 toned rims on the rear to match the front now) it was dropped 3 inner splines.
and this is how she looks from a few more steps back.

Tasty! Loved the beige, the detail looks like it needs something to cap it off, don't know what though.
