I picked up our newest edition on Saturday morning thanks to my ever alert mechanic Michael who knew I was on the prowl again
It feels weird but I don't have a name for him yet except for' d Trakka'
Trakka had been owned by one couple, who do to ill health had to part with him ... so that's the sad part
We can tell by all the extras...and from what Michael said...the miles they had covered, Trakka was much enjoyed in the 20 odd years they had had him
They'd be happy he's gone to a good home. Looks like some fun coming up Jen. Congrats.
All that had to be done on the RWC was the Rear Brakes...the tyres would have made it through but I thought new light truck tyres would be the go to
have it up to scatch from the start :kiss
d Trakka has two solar panels on the roof...hot and cold water...shower...shower annexe which clips around the lifted rear door/tail gate..a pull out
side awning...all sorts of things that open and shut
The bed is so comfy...I was really surprised that I could feel the ridge in the seat when it was down :sandrine
Being a girl I didn't take pics of the 2 amplifiers it has to the drivers right under the dash to control the music...I haven't found all of the
speakers yet but it will pump out some sounds..but may change it to a CD/Radio...I have no cassettes
We took Trakka to Mansfield for a run...I wanted to see how it ran and to get it all up and happening ...except for the hot shower and tent annexe at
the back this trip
Hmmmm I had Mr Blod shake his finger at me as I was travelling at 120 along the highway...luckily he didn't turn around and I found that most people
were passing me the next day on the way home so go figure...I wonder if my speedo is out
Hey Brad....yep lot's of fun ahead for sure
Goodness he got all dirty when I went of onto a dirt road and so I dropped into the car wash so he was nice for next weeks run to Eildon
...he's got a couple of cargo nets as well but I haven't figures how they work yet..well were they go :duh
Oh...and there are spot lights and fog lights...AND CB Radio
:party
We haven't tried to swivel the seats around yet either....apparently the Trakka doesn't start if the passenger seat is not in it's right position
for driving
...last pick....my Trio...Bel...Dr Livington...and the Trakka
I felt like I was in a version of the Castle...move the Type 3 out...uncover the beetle...move her out...drive the Trakka in...Bel back in...cover
her..and then my trusty daily driver Dr L guarding the drive and ready to zoom me to the station in the morn :thumb
oh that is soooo cool.. ive always wanted a factory type fit out in a late model bus.. good work..
what about macka the trakka for a name? look good always handy to have a friendly spotter. :thumb
You know that name might just work
Hmmmm but also might sound like we spend a lot of time at the old golden arches...but then that's cc not kk
Makka could work
hmmm slacka the trakka..
Good score Jen Trakka conversions are the ducks guts
Congrats! Now you no longer have to worry about the hassle of leaking tents hey ?
Nice buy Jen.
With regards to your speedo, trakkas travel faster going clockwise so you were travelling faster there and slower on the way home!
kkk
that looks like a really good find Jenz, many years of happy travelling ahead
Nice looking bed was it commmmmfeeey
nice ride, trakkas are the best. i just realised, almost every day on the way into uni i see a nice beige type 3 looking our over the railway, never realised it was the doctor!
Hey Jen looks like a great score....and good to see you on here too.
I reckon Terry is a good name for him....well he seems like a him.
Good to see ya back Jen! The Trakka looks great too.
How about Shannon? Shannon the Shaggin Wagon.
baybuscamperkid small world isn't it...yep it's Dr L my every faithfull daily ride to the station each day...I get such a warm feeling when I spot
him in the evening waiting where I left him...I feel home...I luv giving him a run on a weekend so he can actually get his engine warm and to feel the
wind carressing him a little...he never fails me...starts first time, every time
Goodness the other week I was gazing out the train window as we came into Ringwood and I saw the Dr's TWIN!!! Argh!!! My heart raced...had someone
taken him for a ride and left him at Ringwood??? Should I get out of the train at Ringwood...it had to be him...I was trying to see things that I
might recognise??!!! The train moved out..I was looking back thining I would have to catch the train back...was it him...would the Dr be waiting for
me...it was a bad dream ARGH!! Train approaches Ringwood East.... I felt like pacing the carriage with worry...we pass the boom gates...my nose is
against the window as I try to spot him in the dark....There he was sitting where I had left him, I almost cried....it felt so good to open his door,
sit in the seat...touch the wheel and tell him how much I loved him :kiss
I haven't seen his twin since...SPOOKY :alien
Squizy he is definitely a he .... only thing is is that Eddies bro is a Terry...but it's a great name... I might have people wonder why I didn't
call him Simon or Evan..or Lionel or something ... can't have favourites
Tracey....and the bed will be SO much more comfy....goodness I had the worst night at Kennet River when the airbed kept deflating GRRRRRRRR
Mmmmmmm this is going to be so good!!! You know how if your've had a big night out and a long drive home n you just wish there was a magic carpet to
fly you home...we have a travelling bed now!!!! Pull the curtains across and instant home....might even wake up in the morn near the place you wanted
to go the next day... out side your fav cafe with an all day breakfast
d Trakka is definitely a great buy
So which one you going to bring to reVOLKs at Fyansford oct 14 for a coffee?
:beer
...damn I missed it
That's what I get for not being here more often
Hey got the husband interested in dubs now...his Holden is due to be re-registered...which he will do ...BUT I have suggested a Golf to get to n from work in
He loves the idea
Now I did point out a convertable once...now he wants one...now I've gotta find one
Hmmmm did I say I have seen the bank...demolish an old bungalow...extend the drive way...built a barn shed
Somehow I think I missed a visit to my shrink
Makka d Trakka has got a new awning being fitted...and is bgetting a cut n polish...mmmmm I want to go camping this week
Nice trio you have there Jen!
nice addition to the collection!
great collection, all bases covered!
Hi Skewy...how are you and the type 3 going? It's been such along time
Yes all bases covered for now...have been thinking of a Golf for Eddie but the reno's here keep eating the funds
I guess what Aussie household can be without a Holden?
...OK i is reliable and easily serviced by most :rolleyes hehe
I c u got your new password Its about time Jen
lol THANKS Dave, I don't think I will forget it!!
... and I haven't!! The TRAKKA is on the market unfortunately, am in two minds about selling, still the best camper. Just got a 4WD to do road trips to NT to visit my son & his little family (partner & number two grandson), Simon said 'Mum you need to get off road', so we are, in a (hush!!) Toyota... cos they are apparently the most driven up there & parts are easier to get if you need them... and people know how to fix them if you do get stuck!! I'm still mechanically challenged & Eddie even more so!!!
WOW..... blast from the past
G'day - hope your well, and yes T3's are cool.
Drop in again some time
Nice looking bus. Any chance of a close up picture of the rear bar it looks aftermarket to me.
